Default Calling all restorers... a question for you

Hi, I hope you guys can help me out.

I just bought a Cutie Honey modern, hey don't click away just yet, and I need to make some cracks disappear.

The Cutie Honey has a clear plastic playfield that you watch the video through. When the pachinko was assembled, someone tightened a screw too tight, and it created stress cracks over time. Now to see the video, I have to look through the cracks, which kind of looks like a silver feather. See this picture.

    Honey_cracks.jpg

I do not know for certain what type of plastic the playfield is. It is not plexiglass, as it is very stiff. I thought it was glass until I saw the stress cracks.

Anyway, I am sure you have come across a similar situation with your restorations, albeit with an opaque plastic. How did you handle filling in (or bonding) the cracks?

    Thanks

I use super glue in the same way they fix cracks on windshields, put just a little on the crack side and with it still wet quickly remove the stress before dry, this helps but not a fix just keeps from spreading. Can you get a piece of Plexiglas cut to fit?

I've been using a clear plastic weld epoxy.. but it's got a 30 second SOL time frame from mix point.. and it's too thick to be useful in this application.. Cardwii may have the better option.. though with Lexan or plastics Supr glue tends to turn milky after coming into contact with superglue..

A friend of mine on another forum suggests this stuff..
