    Default Nishijin super dx questions

    Hey gang!

i bought this off of craigslist today for $50. It will be a fixer and I'm a beginner. Any advice on balls to purchase (only have 25 or so) and any other information on what I've purchased would be appreciated greatly. Looking forward to joining the community! My grandparents had one if these pachinko machines when I was a little boy. They passed away last year and this gift to myself is another great memory of all our fun days together.

    Welcome

You have a Nishijin model C made in 1977 or 1978, I have been lookng for one with that theme for a long time "good buy". You will need around 500 balls for good play time, and the lights can work off a 9 volt battery. I have found that Simple green is a good cleaner for these machines but don't spray it on the machine put some in a cup and dip your rag or q-tip in it for cleaning. Vintage pachinko sells a how to restore DVD for your model machine, but there is a lot of free info on this site for doing a restore.

    Welcome to Pachitalk

500 balls will get ya started but if ya can afford more get a 1000.. your machine will hold 1000, so it will make your game play longer and more enjoyable

    nice machine

    to Pachitalk

What you have there is a Late 1977 Nishijin Model C (Indians)

Also at the top it say Indians Uso Tukanai which translates to Indians do not tell a lie.

If you have any other questions just ask

    -Max

    100 machines and counting...

I've got another question that is probably kind of ignorant. I've replaced the empty light on the top back of the machine but how do you get to the one on the left side (facing the back). I've removed the ball holder, etc but surely I don't have to take everything off the back to access the bulb. I tried unscrewing the plastic reflector on the front but it won't give and I don't want to force it. Suggestions? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1394591761.612568.jpg

Nevermind on the lights! I figured out that the bottom screw from the from needed to be removed in order to remove the plastic lens. Duh!

Were you able to get those pachinko balls out? It would work better with those out first.

Reset the see saw to up position, in the picture, it is down.

Thank you for your comments Carl. When I wrote that comment last night I was elbow deep in restoration. I ended up experimenting with the machine started taking screws off to access parts of the machine that were probably never cleaned before. I'm going to try what another commentor suggested and will depress the plastic pieces so that the whole back will come off. Then, when the balls are out I'll reset the machine and the see saw. I have a quick follow up question though...I was able to wire a 9 volt battery to the terminals and get the "empty tray" light on, but even though I replaced the jackpot bulbs I can't get the jackpot to light up. (I've tried placing a ball in the jackpot directly to trigger the lights) Maybe it's because these balls are jamming up the jackpot payout but I thought the lights would still come on.

There is a jackpot switch (micro switch) located near the see saw.

When the jackpot balls dump onto this area, another lever is depressed that, in turn, depresses the micro switch.
The Model C needs to fully reward a jackpot to achieve this.

It is easy to remove the two screws holding the switch and to manually operate the switch.

You may be able to exercise the jackpot switch with a q-tip or something...

I hijacked Cardwwi's picture and put a yellow circle at the jackpot switch.

Wow. That's a great deal of help. I'll give it a whirl when I get home and see if I can get them out. Thanks again!

Here is a better picture of the jackpot switch and what is going on with the covers off.

This picture was taken so I'd remember how to put the machine back together. e.g. DIRTY

Perfect explanation and exactly what I needed at the exact time. Now, if I can only figure out where this extra screw I have after reassembling it goes....ha!
