Sweeeet! I have the Fever Macross Frontier cell, have wanted to try the Fever Macross. And if you want to check out her hotness Sheryl Nome instead of that moeblob Minmei, maybe we can play tradsies for a week or two this summer or somethin...

Moeblob?

I guess I am really behind the times. I just checked google. Well, I guess Minmei was a cypher. Of course, back then when she was created (1982), that was typical of a less dominant female character in Japanese animation. Still, she was crucial to the story. And in my mind, Mikimoto could have made her hot. It was that her character couldn't be too hot, or she would have been culturally unacceptable, and lose ratings for the series. Remember in the Miss (not Ms) Macross contest she wore a one-piece? She was supposed to be the naive, sweet, girl-next-door that becomes the superstar. With time, she matures, gets *****y and annoying, but eventually understands the mistakes she made on the way up. Sheryl is initially presented as the mega ***** superstar, that as the story progresses, realizes that things of value (true friendship, love), must be earned, and only when she realizes her impending death, does she discover humility. Yes, Sheryl's costumes were hot, she had the body, but I liked the look of Minmei (Asian) better. Ok, so I am old fashioned, and a bit weird going into a monologue about fictitious women.
