    Default New guy from Florida...

Hello everyone! I'm mostly new to the pachinko/pachislot thing, although my grandparents had an old pachinko machine until I was about 12 or so. In the long run I'd like to get something for the house and I'm digging through the boards now to look for the best ways to get a unit from Japan. I look forward to learning something about all this before I start making any uninformed purchases.

    Hello

Are you looking for something specific, importing from Japan?

As you are in the USA you should be able to find lots of different titles nearer to home perhaps?

But I'm sure the members here will point you in the right direction, a lot buy locally to themselves, some may have pachis for sale and a few do import from Japan using YJA and a Agent.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

Welcome to PachiTalk!! We are thrilled to have you as a member of our community.

Craigslist is a wonderful resource for finding machines in the U.S., and the overall cost will probably be much less than if you buy direct from Japan.

    Welcome Aboard

Being someone who has brought over more machines than I have fingers from Japan, Its pretty easy, But there are risks. I always think that if you are in th USA, unless its a new machine or something of a certain theme that you can't find there. You are better getting one from one of the dealers. Then you will get a warranty and support. If you get one from Japan, it might be a dud, Damages in transport, or it has been know for the voltages to be incorrect and a machine to be fried causing hundreds of dollars to fix as the parts will have to be sourced back in Japan and shipped over.

I do it because in the pachi baron land of the UK, If I want something. newer than 2007, I have to source it myself as there are no dealers here.

Thanks for the welcome and the information, everyone! For the most part, I plan to do most of my looking in the U.S.. However, I really want the トップをねらえ! (Toppu o Nerae! or Gunbuster) machine. I almost grabbed one off YJA a few days ago, despite the fact it had some audio issues, until the middleman I was talking to informed me it would be about a $1000 shipping. I'm hoping to find a way to do better than that, for sure. I very much appreciate the Craigslist links, too!
