Do both frames have the 25pinDB connector (dongle) on the back and buttons on the front tray for dispensing balls (only works in the parlors and with the Daverob dongle)?

Both frames are exactly the same, except color, I have two dongles, (not the daverob one), they have 2 buttons for parlor, 1 for game play, buttons in same place both frames, 1 is a 1/99 version (4 or 6 round fevers), other is normal 15 round fever, both machines are 2008 models

Just checking. Companies use to make cash only and CR frames, the cells from one won't work with the other.
Also sometimes slight changes in frame design within a run could cause issues. From the little bit of research I've done so far, the Hyper Sea Story only came in a white or gold frame. The Great Sea Story came in blue. There may be just enough difference between the two to cause a problem. If Drunkenclam doesn't come up with a solution, I'd check every cable and board to see if they're the same from one frame to the other.

I have frame manuals for the Grand Blue, Sakura Vintage and Vivid pink frames, I did have the Gold wave manual too, but I gave that to Daverob.
I got the manual out, and it lists a 3 error code (yet to translate) So the frame and board might not be exactly compatible.
I also have the Hyper cel manual too for the MTB version. I will see if there is anything in there too. But with limited Japanese reading skills, It will take me some time

I would change everything out of the white frame. boards, pay out motor. Anything that would have a sensor in it.
And do a full reset everytime, Yes the first start up it will chime, But leave it a few minutes then switch off for 30 seconds then back on again.

Skip that, It refers to a voice as well as an audio warning, Also the cel service manual refers to the same error codes

Out of interest, Would it not have been easier to get the white machine working, Open the front up by turing the door key to the left and just replace the front door with the blue one?

Seeing as the shooter handle is intergrated to the door and there are just a few sockets to unplug.

Some times Dr Ünkenclam can be useful. Still it has put me off getting the super sea story in Okinawa 2 cel. Just in case. Also there isn't any real difference between Okinawa and Med. except the music and videos and the med has more animatronics. If you can get a Med cel for s sensible price I recommend it.

Although these cels with a playing field both sides of the screen are great for the little ones as it doesn't matter if they shoot too hard and can still get the start pocket.
