LOL! The claim is that she never heard of BR til after HG came out but I call bull. Battle Royale came out in 2001 I believe and was one of a kind movie for it's time and a cult classic. I hear the book is a million time better but it was a hard read for me when I started it. I love the movie but I think everyone should watch the theatrical version first for a smoother watch. The directors cut rocks but I only suggest it for big fans that want more content. Kinda has a different pace.

Another movie with the prisoners on the island came out here that is very similar too but the titles escapes me. The worst part is Battle Royale was going to get a American remake until HG came out. They thought it would be too much like Hunger Games and canceled it because they thought people would calim BR is ripping off HG. Now BR fans are screwed! If you like the movie check out the manga, very graphic but very good! The 2nd BR movie was ok but the director died in production so it has a different feel to it and I think a little too political for my tastes. Again the harder to find theatrical version is better of movie 2 also!
