    Default need a key for a model "A"

    my local lock smith says he cant find / make a key... has anyone keyed a vintage lock like this one?? my customer wants one

    I do not know anything about making keys but the lock looks very similar to lock on my machine that does have a key. Maybe you could fashion one somehow. Take a look at the below post and I have pictures of the lock and the key. Not sure if it will help but hope it does.

    I have a lock cylinder removed from a Model A that looks just like that. I had planned to pinch or file the tabs that hold it together to attempt to make a key myself. Unfortunately that is a project that never got off the ground! Sorry, I can't help.

    Easy stuff. I do it all the time. I had a thread about how to do it here somewhere but it can be a little tricky at times.

    I did have a locksmith make me a key for that type lock I posted a photo of what it looks like:

    But I no long know how to contact the locksmith, the lock and key I have is a number 7 I see you have a number 32 lock, so my key won't work. Maybe we can work out some kind of trade lock and key?

    thanks for the offer, max has a fix for me.. i have the lock packed and ready for the mail...
