Smile What is it? A diverter?

Fabricated this diverter out of plastic, wood cleats and screws.

Goal was to have pachinko balls only coming in contact with plastic (mostly) or metal screw heads.
And goal was to create a space about the size of the tray; easy to place tray in correct spot.

I's difficult to photograph items that are mostly clear.

Even worse to photograph items that are mostly clear AND light up. Disregard every rule of good photography.

Good stuff. I am a bit jealous, tho. I think you get more shop time than I do. Or maybe your shop time is just more successful.

This project was fairly typical of the hobby for me. Draw on paper (twice). Build one, see what is wrong, build second one.

Then test version 2 and figure out that the overall width I went with (by design) was 1/4" larger than the tray. I should have only gone an 1/8" larger.

Pachinko balls bounce out during a ball dump.

It works great for normal play, I'm not making another one for this machine.

But being OCD, I did change my paper plans to reflect what I should do next time, if I can find the piece of paper a year from now...

Is that your definition of successful?

some cloth will kill some of the noise and slow the balls down a bit.. that might solve your problem.. i have even used a piece of foam... it will get dirty so make it removable so ya can wash it.. it will be a ball muffler and washer all in one

But your projects get finished! In MY shop, THAT is success.

Try some of that webbed rubber drawer liner mat. That's what I use to cut out some of the bounce.

I use scraps of carpet to line bins and other things. It really dampens the noise but balls tend to slow down a little too much.

    100 machines and counting...

Carl, is it possible for you to do a video of the configuration you have done, why decisions were made (location of items, how the new software [if there is any] is done, etc...) and how it all looks in video? That would be wonderful, as well if you have plans for the project, others like myself can take those and tweek or reproduce what you have done for our own collection. Kinda love what you have done with it, seriously neat stuff!

I would share plans if I had made any but did not. I did make a prototype, changed it a little and made router templates after that.

There is another project in the way of a video, currently, but will try to make a power flash video soon.

I'd like to see a vid. I think it would be really neat to see it all in action!
