    Default newbie with oldie

Glad to have found you guys. I'm Ken. I had bought this old machine from the back of an antique shop 10-15 years ago and figured one day I'd run across someone who could tell me a bit about it. It's been tucked away in a closet. My kids grew up with a "newer" one I bought from the pachinko palace via AAFEs while in the service overseas (1970s). Here's the old one. No glass, but that's not hard. Little paint loss too. What do you think?

TO PACHITALK! What a fantastic old machine! I would love to find something like that! Have you tested it? Looks complete on the backside. Except, I'm not sure if the top tray on the back is missing...or if it is just a low capacity hopper that was required to be refilled constantly by an attendant who never seen the light of day. Actually playing it might not be a good idea. The cell (the background of the play field) is bubbling up in a few areas, which could change the path of the balls, but more importantly, could be damaged by repeated use. It could be replaced (BIG JOB), but I'm not so sure I would even bother. Risky to take one so old...(dare I say it) and rare.
Can't see a name brand...probably not one. It was probably made back when mass produced machines were the exception, rather than the rule. I would probably put glass in it to protect the front parts, and get a few others to play. Keep this gem for display, and occasional (LIMITED) play when showing it off those who appreciate it!

    to Pachitalk

I would guess to say that machine was built around 1947-48.

Very nice looking machine though and certainly hard to find ones that old.
