Default My new 99 cent machine

    Hi,

this is my new 99 cent machine ($36 with the shipping but who is counting). It is a Maruto GM. As far as I can tell it is all here but I posted pics for others to see what they think. The door latch is missing the rod but still has the latch so opens just fine. The front trays are metal, the ball hopper in the back is metal as well. There does not look to be rust just dirt on everything. The whole thing is dirty big time. The back half of the case has a white Formica which I have never seen and will be hidden in a cabinet thankfully . The playfield needs replacing but I knew that. There is sticky tape residue though on the chrome and front case (will come off just a pain) where they had taped the front case key into the lock. Yes it has a key . Let me know what you think in terms of the parts on the back. I am still trying to get a handle on what everything is for.

this is or the model a I bought a week or so ago will be what my kids surprise me with on Xmas day. Their mother must know what I wanted. ;-)

    Thanks,
    Mike

    interesting..

the cabinet is not original.. but someone put allot of thought into it.

the home made to hopper is nice and big that should hold a few Balls

nice find and a fair price..

    It has a key!

We need pics of that! who cares about the machine that is all that matters.

I agree with mopar. Someone made the case but they sure did put a lot of thought into making it.

Nice buy especially with the mini mouth.

Thanks all. . Yes I noticed the case after I posted was pine and not original. And Jodini sorry for the confusion. I meant the case I will build. . Yes a key. I will post pics. Not at home right now. I paid a buck. 35 times that for shipping. It was packed crapily but arrived with no damage. No harm no foul. Will send more pics later.

Ok, here are some shots of the lock and the key. I have no idea if the key is original as it does not look like a regular key but it works

    Hi everybody,

been a very long time since I posted. Life got in the way of my projects but finally has somewhat calmed down and I have started working on this machine. I have started cleaning and the brownish color of the loader door is kind of tacky for some reason. I hoped it was dirty but even after cleaning it feels that way. It is like the coating has had something happen to it to break it down. It is like a vinyl or paint. Has anybody else had an issue like this and what did you do? Is there a way to either coat it with something or strip it completely off? Any thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Yes among other things. It is not something on it, it is definitely an issue where the actual coating somehow broke down somehow. The actual coating is what is tacky.

I was able to get the sticky off. Lots of scrubbing, drying, repeating... It was definitely a case of something damaging the coating of the door because the stickiness was even all the way around the hinges which were wrapped with the same gold brown coating. Weird but at least no longer sticky.

Don't know how this got away from me that long ago.

Anyways I would say that is an actual key. I actually think I might have one myself now thinking about it. (don't know where or what it goes to but I remember seeing one.) Of course at the time I probably thought nothing of it so I have no clue where it is. But I have seen similar ones.

No as I remember that I have something similar but didn't think anything of it. But that shape is pretty distinct and I know what I had was cut the same way.

Just gotta hope I didn't throw it out now...

Hopefully not. I have thrown out stuff in the past thinking I have no idea where that came from only to realize later what it was. Stinks...

From the photos does anybody have any idea to the year of this machine? I don't think I ever asked and if did my apologies for forgetting. There are no stickers with any dates.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Hmm....let me check my mental pachi database....been a while since I have seen one and last I recall that model was built in 73-74 (I think).

    I stand corrected. 72.

Thanks Max. I had no idea of the year due to the no stickers. I thought the machine looked kind of 60s but all the plastic on the back told me 70s but had not real idea.
