    Default Daiichi help

Just finished my 12 total restoration but its my first Daiichi. Im just having one issue. Im not sure where or how the top of this metal rod goes. I know the bottom end is the winning ball exit door. It seems that it should be pretty clear where it goes. I just don't see it. Its the thin rod to the right of the seesaw button. it goes up behind the plastic. Any help would be great. Thanks daiichi part.jpg

Although this photo is from a Nishijin, the design on most of the machines from this era are very similar. Hopefully it helps.

I believe the rod you are talking about should connect to or be moved somehow by the jackpot payout lever (white lever near top of photo). The Nishijin has a pivot so that when the won balls hit the payout lever, it pushes the smaller rod down, which pulls up the rod similar to yours and releases the winning ball from the lower chute and into the ball tray in the back of the machine.

At the green rectangle area, there is a hole in the bottom plastic; the rod passes through the hole.

Check the pivot point in the blue circle? Your jackpot ball release rod seems stuck in the up position. The fastener there is a knurled brass nail. You can't easily loosen it with a screwdriver but you can with needle nose pliers or wire cutters.

In this next picture of my machine. I replaced the OEM brass nail with a #4 screw; but you can see the jackpot release rod and the hole in the plastic.

Thanks CarlW. I saw the hole and I did feed it into that hole but it just didn't seem right. Once it goes through that hole does it connect to anything? Ok? I think it doesn't connect to anything. It just pushes up on the seesaw. PERFECT! Thanks!

    no
it rides there in the hole and the action of the payout drops the jackpot onto a flat piece of plastic.. that flat piece falls on the rod and pushes it down.. they touch but are not connected
