Default Guide books worth it or not?

My apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. I ran into all these pachinko guide books browsing YAJ and while being cheap I cannot figure out if they're actually books containing anything of value or just a pamphlet with pictures.

Bottom line: are they worth spending any money on?

I suppose I'll soon find out I picked up a Top Gun guide book and a GITS promo folder. Next thing would be a data counter once I figure out what I actually should be looking for

I have a few, mostly for the machines I own and they are nice little collectibles

Also we do have a few hidden away at PachiTalk so you can see how some of them look:

PachiTalk Research Center - DaStooge's Play Guides - PachiTalk

Always nicer to have the real thing though

There are 2 size guides. A4 and A6 size. They hold similar info and pictures to the machines own website. Gives images of reaches, payout stats etc. is it worth it. If it is the only thing you are shipping at the time. Then probably no. If its tucked in the box with other items, then yes. Also handy when you ever come to sell a machine.

Picked them up through SMJ so they will get company by a Taito Type X unit on the way home

Another question: data counters, how do they work and what should I be looking for? Been browsing YAJ and found a few, but have no clue whatsoever which of them might work with the Top Gun

Basic counters for pachinko need 8 wires out of the birds nest that comes out of it. 4 pairs. 2 power, 2 start pocket, 2 Ootari, 2 high probability.

There are other connections for door open, top lamps, end lamps.

Older machines have set sockets on the back for connectors. Newer machines have speaker type spring connectors. Post a picture of the rear of your machine if in doubt.

Depends if you want to link them all together. No big difference between counters. Just depends what you like the look of. Just make sure it's for pachinko not pachislo as the displays are different.

At some point I will probably want to link counters for some battling (it's possible, right?) but since I'm still waiting for my first game to show up a single will suffice.
