Question Game Room and Neon Light Question

I have six various neon lights spread around the game room which I leave on 24/7. Just love to go into that room and see the machines, etc. and the neon glowing! They don't use too much electric since they run on small transformers...

Will these lights wear out quickly by leaving them on all the time? And, how many others who have neon around their machines leave them on continually???

    Hey Don,

My brother has several neon bar room lights in his game room which he leaves on all the time. I asked him the same question about wearing them out more quickly by leaving them on all the time, and his response was something like, "Bar rooms have them on 24 hours a day. Why shouldn't I?" I know I have seen some neon lights that were burned out, but when you think about it, they sure do seem to last for a long - long time with constant use. I also like the idea of walking into a room lit only by the neon. Sounds nice.

My brother has a really nice pool table, but he has no Pachi machines. I will have to introduce him to the Pachi life the next time we get together.

    Best wishes,
    Dave Wile

my main concern is transformers overheating on neon lights.

i don't have any neons, but i leave all my machines on powerstrips and off when i'm not playing them

Since I joined Pachitalk I decided to use a small bedroom as my "game room."

Looking at pictures of other game rooms here has given me some great ideas, including neon lights. After all, what's a casino without lots of neon.

Checked every place I could think of to beg, borrow, or buy some, nothing in this little burg. Started checking with friends if they knew of any. So far two of them just sold or threw away a bunch! One owned a liquer store and threw away a BUNCH of beer signs when she closed it, the other had a friend who gave her some but she just sold them at a yard sale!

eBay has a bunch at premium prices (I think) and many more claimed to be neon but aren't.

Anyone have one or two they want to get rid of?

There's a type of small, cheap neon that comes from China. They are just the right size to fit on top of a pachislo. They usually sell for $19.95 to $29.95. Spencer Gifts usually has some if there's one in a mall near you. But the best selection I've found is at Daca Vending in Cincinnati. Daca is a wholesaler. They sell them for about $15 if you buy a dozen. They also have a retail website called Just for Fun where they mail order them for $19.95.

    http://www.just4funshop.com/list.asp?cat=63

I know they have a bigger variety than they show on that page. There's at least one I bought from them when I visited them that isn't listed on that page.

If you have a Walgreen's anywhere near you, check for neon. I bought my "OPEN" sign for 9.99 from them. They had several other types.

I got a really cool neon sign from Target last week, it says Las Vegas in neon, and has a neon dollar sign, and four aces, and dice that are surrounded by neon. Also it is in the shape of the welcome to Vegas sign. I came across it by chance and it is a really sweet sign, I paid 24.99 for it.

I have my game room on x10. Rather than leave everything on all of the time (4 slots, pinball and a couple of neon). I got myself a couple of x10 motion sensors and placed them in the stairwell high enough that the cats don't activate them but its all lit up before I ever enter the room.

Aside from the purpose of the thread, Walmart has very similar neons that screw into any light socket or lamp base. They sell for about $5.95 or so, each.

I've tried the Walmart neons. Problem is they are REALLY bright. So they don't mix in well with other neons.

No Targets in this area, this is Wal-Mart territory. They get 'em in from time to time, but nothing lately.

Man, the sign you described is exactly what I want! Next time you're by there see if they have another. If you're willing, pick it up for me. I'll be more than happy to pay for the sign, shipping, etc.

Tony Jr, They had 3 of them when I bought mine, when I get some time to get over there I'll go see if they have any of them left. They are really nice, I wish I could post a picture of it but I don't know how to.

I know what you mean. I almost hit the BUY it Now button for a tech manual on my IGT slot machines. I did a quick web search and found it for free.

Mon, is the Savanah Park the IGT machine, I know the Pulsar isn't. Haven't looked to see if you own other machines or not.
