So I was practicing Maoz Tsur for Hanukkah, and got the idea that the polishing spray used for cleaning acoustic guitars might be good for cleaning and polishing the outside of the cabinets, if the have any kind of finish, even acrylic. I tested a small spot on one, and will let you know how it goes.

In case anyone has been waiting on tenterhooks, I think the case looks pretty good. Guitar polish should make it much more resistant to absorbing moisture, and it's a good way to clean the finish that's already on it without adding wax or something to it, like Pledge would.

On the same topic, if you ever are restoring a machine that is excessively dirty, my step-sister, who rebuilds flea market and garage sale furniture into stuff Hipsters will pay hundreds of dollars for, swears by Murphy's oil soap. She gets it in bulk, and gets an extra discount, because she gives away coupons for it to people when they buy the furniture, but she claims it isn't just kickbacks; after putting a lot of work into something, she doesn't want people to ruin it with Pine-Sol, or Scrub-Free.
