The ball loader assembly on the comet II sits on two pins that will allow it to slide out when pulled directly toward you. Before you can slide it though, you will need to rotate the metal latch that is located inside the assembly towards the back in the lower right area (behind the red lever in your picture). Once you unlatch it, you will need to firmly slide it towards you, working it out in a gentle see saw motion (there is pretty good friction on those pins!).

Go slow and take your time.

Just another quick question on this assembly. If you look at the picture, on the left under the weight on the white arm there was a rusty hex nut there. It was either glued on or just stuck from sitting there. Should that be there? Is it to prevent the arm from raising to high or something? Thanks!

    Welcome to pachitalk

The nut is there to control the arm movement

in your picture someone has removed it before and reinstaled it incorrectly..

in the upper right thre is a pin that is the low ball indacator.. when you rininstall it that pin shuold pass threw the oval slot of red plastic..

this way when the top hopper is out of jackpot balls the shooter will be blocked and not allow more balls to be shot

Thanks! I assumed that was what it was for just was not positive was a standard thing or was done for that reason on my machine due to an issue. I had figured if standard something other than the nut would have been used. Thanks again. Mike

thank you! When I was looking at it that is what I thought it looked like it should be. I am assuming that it never worked that way since we owned it as my father never would have opened it.

Thank you, when I put it back in the machine I will correct it. I disassembled that assembly last night and cleaned it. This morning I took off the lower ball tray and plastic around it and the shooter also took off the chrome and glass frame. Slowly but surely I will get there.
