Need? I think we all need more machines.

But I already have a model A rolling stone, and I have never much liked the early Ginza single shots.

    100 machines and counting...

I am curious about this ball elevator. But I don't see it in the pictures, unless it is the thing on the right side of the newer pachinko. Or did the seller make a mistake?

Sounds a bit foreboding in any other circumstances.

And this just got me thinking. What ever prevented the pachinko machine manufacturers from creating a second shooter, behind the playfield, that shot drain balls back up to the jackpot? It would work off of the regular shooter. This is for vintages pachinkos.

i think he wants a shooter to shoot lost balls back to the top hopper (behind the scenes)

I'm not talking about the grassy knoll here...

Like Mopar said, a mechanism that shot balls from the "drain" of the playfield, back up to the hopper. The mechanism would be on the back of the pachinko, and linked with the main shooter, so that the action of shooting balls into the playfield, also shot "drained" balls back up to the hopper. For the player, there would be more tension on the shooter lever. If the mechanism was designed to be very reliable, then for every ball launched into the playfield, one would be moved from the "drain" to the hopper. If the mechanism wasn't that reliable, then after the player had shot all his balls (and he was bored), he could empty the drain and refill the hopper by dry firing the shooter (not that he would give a damn at that moment).

Alternatively, instead of a second shooter, an elevator could be used, but the action of flicking the shooter lever wound a spring, that through gearing, drove the elevator pulley.

All this thinking has now got me stumped. Does a cyclic pachinko have an over flow? Or does the playfield back up like a clogged drain?

cyclic machines send all balls back to the shooter.. there are no payouts and there are no losers

There's no payouts on cyclics? Then whats the point in playing?
Let me get this straight, the ball goes into a pocket, and nothing happens? That sucks.
What's next, a fever round on a modern that all you get is sick in bed for two days with a cold?
