Thumbs up These are the days of my live...

well as live moves us/me from job changes projecets and the daily grind of things we should all take a moment to reflect..

i have recently changed gears and got into cast boolits and reloading.. Pachinkos are still a strong point but im a man of many many hobbies and my focus and time changes from time to time..

    the reason for my Post..

I have been forced to search out help and advice from other boards on the net.. and i have to say... i sure enjoy the way things are aound hear..

its a nice place to come.. its a great place to get help and i have never been told to go search the net for something cause another poster was to damn lazy to post more info or a link to the subject of conversation..

i know members come and go.. there has been a ton of members hear when i first joined that are gone or away for a bit.. but the core group is a great group..

so I just wanted to say a big thanks to the mods and the members that have continued to call this place home...

if someone see Lord Sid please give him a slap on the head and tell him thanks for keeping this nice little sice up and running..

if your casting your own bullets make sure you have plenty of ventilation, my buddy got lead poisoning from doing that

I did my own reloading in the 60's and 70's, it saves a lot of money if you shoot a lot. I bought all my lead and copper coated bullets rather than casting myself. in my single days we would go to the indoor and outdoor ranges quite a bit and shoot up plenty of ammo .

i reloaded 38 spl, 357 mag 44 reg and 44 mag, 9 mm, 45 cal, and 30 cal carbine. i never did shotgun shells because you could buy boxes of 25 at sears for under 3 bucks. we would always compete in our own trap matches with 50 shots each, my best was 48 out of 50 then we would finish up the box of clay pigeons shooting doubles.

i sold my press and all reloading supplies and all my guns to my buddy just before my first son was born.

that's one thing in my life i regret, selling all that

I have to agree with mopar's view. This is among the nicest forum sites out there. It is easy to navigate and find everything. Also everyone is willing to help and learn. Which really help adds to the site as without people it is well... Useless.

This will always be one of my most favorite sites out there and one I always go to when bored as there is always something new.

Keep posting and mods just keep doing what your doing.

    I'll be back...

I'm the same way as far as multiple interests and hobbies. The pachinko (arrangeballs) will always be a subject of interest but its on a low burn sort of thing. It doesn't excite me like it use to but its still fun. There's just too many other interesting things out there and so little time.
Anyway, I used to reload shots shells quite a bit. I grew up in south Louisiana which means you're just about born with a shotgun in your hand. Millions of ducks and geese call it home in the winter so I was chasing them in the rice fields and marshes. When summer rolled around I was offshore fishing and diving. Truly a sportsman's paradise. Anyway back to reloading. I hunted with a 10 gauge exclusively and reloaded for that. I had a library of books and kept journals with the results. It's a great hobby and lots of fun to (safely) experiment. I bought a top of the line reloader and tons of other equipment but hurricane Katrina took it all away after doing it for about 8 years or so. No biggy in a way since I was in boot camp and Uncle Sam had me for the required 6 years at the time (I joined the military very late in life with the help of an age waiver). Now that I live in the socialist enclave known as Portland, I don't hunt anymore but I sure miss it and reloading.
Good luck with this rewarding hobby and measure your powder accurately!!!

I must agree with everything you said, Mopar. This past year has been a very challenging time for me personally and professionally, and I have not been around here as much as I like due to tremendous time limitations and constraints. Pachinko's are still in my interest, but I have had to put that hobby on hold while take care of more pressing matters. I have visited other forums both in the past and recently for other interests I have, but I must say that none compare to PachiTalk in any way. I am a member on other boards, but I feel like we have a family and sense of community here. I have checked in from time to time over the past 12 months and it felt like I was coming home each time.

I would not only like to thank the Admins and Moderators, but also the people who come here and participate on a regular basis, and consistently go out of their way to help others. That is really what makes this site so wonderful.
