Leaf switches look fine. As long as the appropriate mechanisms close them properly, you should be fine. (Jackpot, tray empty)

The last picture of "leaf switches" is actually the power hookup. The Orange and White connectors are screw posts that you can put wires from a DC transformer into. If you unscrew them, you'll find holes in the post that you put the wires in, then tighten down the nuts over the wires. You'll want to check that the fuse isn't blown and if so, replace it with a fuse that approaches the max current draw of your DC transformer.

I mentioned it above; I'm using a 9VDC 2A transformer (Wall wart, not a coil as you might see on moderns) for powering the lights on my machine and they're bright enough.

if your bulbs are dim you can do one of two things..

get a 12 volt wall wart or get 9 or even 6 volt bulbs..

the 6 volt bulbs will be nice and bright.. over poweing them like that will make them burn out quickley but since the jackpot only blinks they will last for a wile.. now the low ball is a different story.. if it gets left on over powerered it will burn out perty quick
