Default Need some help with this modern

Okay I normally don't dip into this section much but when issues arise I have to. I got contacted from the manager of a ReStore store in Florida, he just got in this modern Daiichi machine and he is wanting to know some more information on it. So first off can anyone tell me the year, and model. He also has a question about what the display with the 2 yellow buttons do (red arrow points to it). He also says balls won't fire, he hears the motor turning so I think there is a marble or something in the loader.

Any help is appreciated. Also if there are any members near Vero Beach that wouldn't mind talking to him in person please let me know.

Nice! Looks like he scored a Mrs. Dynamite Kenrimono,

The two yellow buttons are part of the credit reader system and will only function with Daverobs dongle attached to the back
As far as the shooter, it can also malfunction if there is not a bypass/or Daverob dongle attached but it could also be like you suggested "a jam"
Tell him to look for something on the back that looks like a printer port , that's where the dongle should be located
If that looks ok, the ball tray in front should open just like a vintage, and he can check for anything blocking the ball path inside

PS: some of my early moderns will run without a dongle at all, but that's usually only on the very early CR models

I think "Mrs Dynamite King" is the proper name but I could be wrong on that

he says he can hear a motor.. these older machine have two motors.. one for the shooter but it will go thump thump when trying to strike balls.. the other motor would be the payout motor.. on some older machine that motor keeps turning waiting for a ball and a payout..

its so hard to help someone like this... a video would be a great help..

if i were guessing (lets face it im guessing) the motor is the payout and the shoot wont work without a dongle of some kind... and of course a ball jam/marble is possable

Does it have enough balls in it? That the cause of the majority of "broken" pachinkos in my neck of the woods.

    CRダイナマイ娘V

    CR Dynamite Daughter V

娘=is the kanji for daughter although a basic translator may also say woman as well.

If its a Daichi... and its anything like the old Daichi I had and (sniff) got rid of because it had a non-replaceable or repairable part... That motor turning + marble flopping around sound could be a messed up payout timing motor. If this has something like that, it would be running constantly somewhere in the lower right of the back. And if the cam attached to the timing motor is broken, and there is a ball in there... it will flop around forever and never trigger a payout. Hopefully this one is new enough that it doesn't have this ridiculous mechanism.

Not sure if I told this story already... but when I walked about a mile in Nagoya to a place that had early modern parts and tried to see if they had one, the owner took one look at my drawing and answered my "it's broken" statement with (in perfect English) "They all are."
    Woof!

Oh no... it made me laugh too... Let me see if I can set the stage more accurately...
Neither of them understood a thing I was saying... SO I had to
    * write out the name of the pachinko as best as I could in katakana
    * draw the back of the frame with arrows to the timing motor area
    * draw a timing motor and then the cam attached to the end
Only then did she go "aaaaahh... hai!" in recognition.
I said "uh... batsu! (made the "x" sign with my arms) - its broken", and then.. after all that... she goes "They all are" in what sounded like perfect English.

I laughed... and I think she did too. For a minute I thought they were messing with me, though...
    Woof!
