D'oh! I want it, but five brothers might be bringing in some in a few days! That is when their container arrives. They have them for pre-order, but you can't check out. What to do???

I just asked Juno to bid for me on this one. Please let me know if anyone really wants this cel and I'll step away. The Macross Frontier I got from Five Brothers came in a Fever frame so I'm halfway there. It'll go great with my Mari Iijima signed poster (met her at a CON in Denver).

aaaaaaaaiiiigggghhhhh... I've got a Macross Frontier in a Fever frame too... 3100 right now... 10 hours to go.

Hmm... Don't plan on bidding... but... I've been known to bid suddenly on drunken Friday nights after particularly hard weeks at work...

What? Actually, I guess Juno is low balling and waiting to bid. If he earns a percentage of total cost, wouldn't you want to max the bid? I'm glad there are still honest people out there.

I believe Juno waits for the last second, and then bids your maximum.

One time when the biding went over my max, Juno emailed me to ask if I wanted to increase my bid. When I saw the email, it was too late and the auction had ended. The bidding went far over what I would have committed.

I guess we are all members of the club.

I got Mikimoto to DRAW me Lynne Minmei and I was lucky enough to get Mari Ijima to sign it at Akon in Texas a few years back. She is very nice! I will be awhile before I get any new Pachis though...

That's really awesome! It's because of Macross I put my pachislos aside and recently bought my first pachinko. I can't stop playing the thing.

Thanks for the find! I overpaid Juno (normally $50USD deposit) so I probably won't hear from him until he's ready for the shipping fee. I don't mind showing how big of an idiot I am so I'll post total fees to this thread.

I can send you a Texas Pokemon I found in my yard yesterday. (Actually, they're protected and I shouldn't even be handling them. It's because of them I leave the harvester ants alone.)

I always over pay Juno, I look in the listings to see what the internal postage in Japan is and add that on as well, I had a 980 yen Buy it Now and sent Juno 4000 yen to cover all other expenses, That just leaves the shipping to the UK

I am so jealous, I could vomit. Seriously.

Life is so cruel. Back in 1985, you just could not get the accessibility that is available now, thanks to the Internet. All I have is my 1986 Macros DYRL calendar. Waaa, waaaa!
Well, I can use the calendar for 2014.

I won't show you my other sketches then... Anime Cons USE to be small and I was fortunate to meet a LOT of people back in the day and even occationally now. It just isn't easy these days...
I won't even tell you too much about the Valkyrie Shoji Kawamori drew me then, that was TOTAL luck...

No kidding its not easy. For old time's sake, I went to FanimeCon, San Jose, in May of this year. Out of 100,000 people (I was checking badge numbers), I think I was the oldest person there. Didn't recognize most any of the anime. Oh, of course they had the familiar stuff in the "Nostalgia Room". They might have well put a sign over the entrance "Old Guys Go Here".

There was something strange about the art dealer hall though. There was an overriding feeling of despair and tragedy. It was like that was a general theme of the art. Though varied, most depicted violence, bloodshed, and death. Not exactly what I was expecting from anime. Sure, I have seen that in anime, but it wasn't a primary focus.

I was quite surprised of the true talent that the "kids" (called only because they are younger than me, much younger than me) have in creating the cosplay costumes and the performances they did on stage. Budding actors and actresses.

A little frustrating to go to panels because it was so crowded and the rooms filled up quickly. And the poor volunteers, they worked so hard, but their upper management was pretty much clueless. I hope those in charge learn from the mistakes made this year, to make next year run more smoothly.

The previous anime con I went to was AnimeExpo in 94 (I think) and I only went there to settle a tab I had with Carl Macek.

I attended a couple of cons this year. Mizuumi-Con in March and San Japan in August, both in San Antonio. They are small but seem to get bigger each year. I'm 50 but still had a great time. Anyway, to bring this thread back around. Someone at San Japan had three pachinkos set up (Macross Frontier, Eva 6, Trigun). They were charging to play only. Can't remember how much they charged but it appeared they were doing really well (they should follow this thread). After playing I was hooked. I'll buy anything Macross, but the pachinkos allow you to actually interact with and enjoy. BTW...I really enjoyed the Trigun as well and it seems Akimono has a couple.
