Default Help? 2002 Yamasa Neo Planet T lights up but won't play...

    Hi all!

New to the forum and hoping to hit a home run with some assistance on this machine. It's a lovely device, looks almost like brand new, lights up and the screen looks great. I've read all about the reset, both types, and tried both multiple times -- but, no matter what I do, I can't get it to take a coin. The "Credit" light is on (and says zero) and a few other lights are on, but nothing else seems to happen. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

    Jason

I've posted some pictures with information on Yamasa machines. Find which model is yours and get familiar with the buttons and switches that is on your machine. Sounds as if your machine needs a "Hard Reset". Picture #1 tells how to do a "Hard Reset". I know you have said that you have done a reset. But, please read the steps that I have posted in the pictures. Each step MUST BE DONE IN ORDER or the machine WILL NOT RESET.

OK Gents - I've taken a breath, followed all instructions above, and still, the same result. Is there any way to do an eprom reset (actually removing and clearing an eprom chip)? Any other ideas? I'm thinking, at this point, I might as well just sell the machine for parts...though I really don't want to do that...

are you sure you actually are pressing the odds button??

if it says 1 and still not working after the full rest,

your problem may be in the joystick, have you checked the wiring and moved the joystick up and down when doing the full reset??

I'm definitely pressing the odds button - it's the white button just to the right of the little indoor read-out that shows the number of the odds (unless I'm mistaken...). The joystick does feel a bit "funny," and I thought it might be an issue. I pulled disconnected and reseated it. I did notice that none of the lights on the motherboard come on when the joystick is moved up and down -- are they supposed to? Thanks for the help!

OK - problem solved. It was a bad start joystick/knob. I took the joystick out, the insert coin lit up and the machine played fine (when I jumped the joystick to get the machine to fire). The odds button works fine now too. As it turns out, the N indicator on the motherboard should fire when the joystick is pushed -- and, previously, nothing was firing. Now I'm at step 2 -- which is proving to be just as difficult as figuring this out -- finding a replacement joystick/knob!!! ANY THOUGHTS?
