    Default My EM pinball collection!

So I've gone from Pachinkos to pinball pretty well over night! I've purchased 8 of them and I've sold 4! Nice thing is there seems to be a larger market for pinballs. And since they are a lot harder to get working...most people pay the price for a good working machine. Don't get me wrong...I enough fixing up pachinkos, but seems like lately I can't even give them away! It's nuts!

And whats really crazy...my wife gets pinball and she doesn't mind them (too much) taking up room in the basement! Actually the other day she was thinking about giving me a little more room by moving some stuff around!

So here's what I've purchased and sold so far:

    1. Star Exployer (kind of a kid pinball machine)
    2. Ballys Old Chicago (love that machine)
    3. Gottlieb Pro-Football (wish I still had it)!

    4. Ballys Air Aces
1975 Bally Air Aces Pinball - YouTube

Here's what I still have (and probably will keep for a while)
    1. Williams King Pin

    2. Gottlieb Dodge City

    3. Williams Space Mission

    4. Hokus Pokus

Bad thing...I play these machines too much and get nothing done around the house!

    Later!
    Joe

    Nice collection!!

I have a few pinballs and enjoy playing them, but could never choose them over pachinko

but it's nice to have the choice of what to play, and each offers something different

The lure of the silver ball in both cases

That was the same trajectory I followed. I initially got into pachinko as a gag gift I bought for my girl and then I got interested which then evolved into arrangeballs exclusively. I then bought a '69 Gottlieb Mini Pool and was instantly hooked and wondered to myself why it took me so long to obtain a vintage pin. If it weren't for arrangeballs, I would have forgotten about pachinkos long ago with the exception of owning a cool 50's single shot.
Anyway, I quickly bought 15 or so Gottlieb pins, and kept all but 3 or 4 in a storage unit and just rotated them in and out. Some were/are in amazing shape and some I picked up for a couple hundred bucks. Now I've got my 5 favorite in the basement: Lucky Hand-Dimension-Flipper Pool-Diamond Jack and Sweet Hearts. All are add a ball (with the exception of Sweet Hearts) which I prefer over replay and I've sold the rest with the exception of a parts machine and a rare 1937 gambling/payout pre flipper machine called Daily Races.

Wow...emmadog...you have quiet the collection! I should be getting a Gottlieb Soccer next month to fix up...it's a cool machine!
Hanabi...you have RUDY! I'm still jealous! It's the only solid state I would consider (Funhouse)! Great game!

If you ever get the chance, go to a pinball convention and you'll get to play tons of games that you'd normally only read about. They typically have other coin op stuff too both vintage and modern. Also the pinball hall of fame in Vegas has every Gottlieb made so its a great resource to test any games you may be interested in. Last trip to Vegas was a quick 3 day jaunt and I was at the PHOF every day.
