Default New to site, but not to Pachinko!

Hi all, found your site and need some help! First got hooked on Pachinko after my older sister brought me one home from Guam, I think I was 12 or so. Years later, came home from college one summer and my beloved Pachinko was gone, ...Mom was "cleaning". Well, two days ago stopped at a yard sale and there she was, a filthy, non-working Pachinko just waiting for me. I took it for $10, brought it home, took it apart, shined her up and now it almost works. It's a Mizuho "karaoke" and my 9 and 11 year old girls love it! One problem I'm having, if I put more than two or three balls in the tray to play, the ball waiting to be shot "falls forward" and gets stuck. Luckily I found a site that showed me how to open up that front panel but I'd like to fix it. I've used a level to make sure it's level. Any ideas? Should I post pictures to help? Really want to get this to work. My next step will be to get the lights and bells to work. Thanks everyone!!

    to pachitalk

Rule #1 here. If you have a problem post pictures.
#2 if you buy a new machine post pictures.
#3 post pictures about anything you talk about.

(please note that these aren't actual rules but we all love pictures as they help and are awesome. )

Also where about in CA are you?

If you have any further questions feel free to ask. And once again welcome to PT.

    Welcome to Pachitalk

Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own

We are truly a diverse lot. South Florida here... Dad got my first pachinko machine when I was 12 or 13. Loved it. Mine to fell victim to spring cleaning. Just recently picked up a 78 Sankyo in great condition, then that became two, then those two had become 4. Had to sell two to get one I really really wanted. Down to three then up to 4 again.

For the pachinko owners here, we usually fall into two camps. The vintage guys and gals and the modern guys and gals. Once in awhile you'll meet a few of us who have crossed over and found a love for both.

I thought I was soley a vintage guy, but found out that while I love restoring vintage machines, I love playing moderns. As a result, my collection tilts slightly modern.

I have the following: (oldest to newest)
    A 1971 Nishijin Model "A" Vintage
A Early 80's Nishijin Hanemono (technically an early modern but with a heavy vintage flavor...More like a "vintage on steroids")
    A 2005 Sankyo Star Wars
A 2007 Fuji Space Battleship Yamato.

My collection has to stay at 4 for awhile since I don't have any more space in my bedroom for more and am desperately trying to keep this from being a full blown addiction...

Hi...my name is Will and I am a Pachiholic...Hi Will...
    71 Nishijin "A" Bowling, 80's Nishijin Hit Parade , 05 Sankyo Star Wars, 07 Fuji Yamato 1, 09 Fuji Yamato 2
----------> ----------> ....And so it goes...

Wow you guys are amazing! Thanks for making me feel so welcome! I'm in North San Diego county, coastal area. Finally took some pics so here they are. I will take your advice and post the Problem in the tech Support section too.IMG_0175.jpgIMG_0009.jpg The first picture sort of shows the one ball out in front of the others--that's the one that jams everyone up. So I can only load 3 or 4 balls at a time or if it jams I have to open both front doors and get them out. Thanks everyone!

Too funny! I feel a meeting coming on in my future! Thanks for all the info! I'm only vintage because that's the only Pachinko I've seen/touched/played/taken apart/yelled at/missed/owned. Just scratching the surface of this hobby but loving it already. I'm bound and determined to get this thing to work the way it's supposed to. Appreciate your support!

IMG_0178.jpg So here's the inside with the front door open. Of course the ball that was jammed falls out when I open it so it's not in the picture. It doesn't appear that any pieces are missing or broken, it's just that the ball falls forward and get stuck when more than a few are fed into the tray. If I tilt the whole machine really far back it doesn't get jammed, but then it doesn't seem to play right (and I don't think it's supposed to be tilted!) Thanks!

Check the linkage pin on the top right of your pic that continues through the back piece. In the rear it should be held down by another linkage that goes up toward the reward hopper. It's easy to get it jammed up when you take the rear panel off and place it back on(maybe not you but whoever took it apart last). Take a pic of the rear just to see how the linkage ties in above the shooter.
