    ok, "early" modern...
Technically it is a modern. It is the perfect "bridge" machine for anyone who is a vintage guy who wants to get a taste of some modern play. They play almost identical to vintages, and almost all of them are based on "vintage" frames and mechanics. But they do have some "modern" features such as a "fever round" and the automatic shooters.

I personally love my Hanemono because it still has a great "vintage" feel, while having some of the excitement you can find in later moderns.

Be careful because it is a "gateway drug".

After about 50 balls, it started paying out like mad. I couldn't empty the trays fast enough to keep the top hopper fulland the alarms going off whenever the balls were too low! Needless to say it wasn't a very fun Fever!
Yeah, the 90's moderns were like that and I can imagine they are not fun at all.

Both my Star Wars and Yamato don't do that. If you run out of balls, you simply refill stop getting paid and it catches up once you refill. My Star Wars will start pinging if the lower tray is too backed up, so I'll empty that once during the fever, then when the jackpot supply empties, the only thing noticiable on the machine is a small red light on the right side of the frame (Lumina). I can continue to play and feed the machine and it will keep track of what I've won vs what I've been paid.

When the fever round ends, I simple refill the machine and then immediately transfer the balls to the lower tray so that I can easily refill again. No annoying alarms, just payout after payout. Of course a Gaku Counter is essential since it's the only way to keep track of my winnings. Same thing is true with my Yamato.

If you ever get another modern, get a mid 2000's machine that will make things much more pleasant.

Nor have I, but I can imagine that a machine that alarms constantly during a fever due to low ball condition would be frustrating.

Yes, I don't really want it but $80 was a fair price. That's about what I paid for my Julie and Maharaja. And that frame is easy to convert to full cyclic, but if anybody wants to trade for a pachislo let me know.

Yeah, I was about to take my own advice and have a UPS store pack it and ship it to me. $50 just to pack. Shipping would have been another $100. Ouch!

I picked the game up today. It wasn't to bad. It was real dirty and t.he frame needed a little work. I replaced the wood feet with a black stand I had laying around. It had a ball jam, easy fix. And I took the cell out and gave it all a good cleaning. I didn't convert it to cyclic yet in case some one wants it in original condition. I have yet to play it other then to test all the functions but it looks fun. If any one wants to buy or trade let me know.

Looks like you are about 4 hours away from me. If it is still available when I am making my run to NJ, I may see if we can make a deal.
