I have been watching the new Yamato 2199 series on line and it is amazing. I've also been playing the hell out of my CR Yamato 1. I have the "Desslar" FPW model, so it has low odds (1/99) and low payout (approx 600 balls per bonus). I like it because I get to fever much more often, but compared to my Star Wars machine it is really tight.

I had several Kakuhen bonuses (three in a row) and a Jitan bonus, and still only came out about 70 bucks ahead (assuming a 2.5 yen ball buyback). I don't know what purpose the FPW has, since getting ahead is so difficult. I imagine it is designed for the 1yen/ball rental parlors that would be crushed by a machine that pays out higher fevers. This machine definitely encourages you to cash out as soon as you make the slightest profit as the payouts are so small the continued play will almost certainly wipe you out.

Yea, sad there are only a few episodes left, but I hope they are encouraged by the reception and decide to do season 2 - fingers crossed!

Who knows. They may pull a Arrivederci Yamato and kill everyone off at the end. I was never a huge fan of season 2 because Zordar was just too stereotypically one-dimensionally "evil".

"I am evil because I am evil"... In reality "evil" is more subjective. Desslar was evil from Earth's point of view, but was simply trying to save his race from his perspective. I find those interactions most interesting. If they did do a season 2, they will need to overhaul that character quite a bit.

It was a a pretty big legal battle even to get THIS new season! I want to see a second Resurrection movie because of ALL the untied ends etc. etc. I like the writing and the pacing of the new series
too. I am enjoying the new plot twists and turns and references to the original. I will be sad when its over!

I'm watching it on line and I'm about halfway through the 22 episodes they have available so far. They've done a lot of cool explorations that I don't remember from the original series. Like why some Gamilas were blue and others were white. Never explained in the original.

The android looking for the ship's goddess. (very "Ghost in the Shell', what does it mean to be alive?)
The whole mystery surrounding Yuki
The episode with the Esper where Yuki and Kodai are alone in the Yamato.

Some really cool stuff.

Yea they have added a ton of new plot and removed a lot of the old stuff (In the original the Beemelians were still around and killed their criminals and turned them into royal jelly to sell to Gammilas). I was worried at first that it would ruin the show but I think it has given a clearer picture of the Gamilas empire.

I just finished episode 22. Now I have to wait...This blows. But it is really well done.

I am holding out and watching an ep or there... I want to savor it because once its over it will be a miracle if there is any more...
