Default Nishijin Super Limited Elect Machine (very early modern)

After this machine popped up on ebay I initially wrote it off due to finances (figured it could get very pricey) although it was very intriguing to me,
been wanting a very late 70's early '80's model for a while and know they don't show up very often

Then about two days before the auction was to end, I was faux painting a very tall wall in a home and my ladder slid out from under me and I came very close to falling about 17 feet sideways to the marble floor below,
amazingly enough i was able to grab onto the iron work of a second balcony and stop my fall as well as the ladders (just ended up with bruised shins from when they went through the rungs)
needless to say I was in a "life is too short" frame of mind for a little while and after dreaming hard about that machine for the next two nights decided to go for it!
I had no idea how much interest there would be and was surprised no bidding war ensued
It arrived packed very well (in a cocoon of bubblewrap with foam pieces in the tray as well as around the shooter mech) The only damage incurred was the glass cracked diagonally, but once again (at least in my area) Fed Ex came through very nicely (ive not had that much luck with UPS or USPS) although I know there are no guarantees with any shipper
It also works perfectly and the shooter is very robust and quiet considering its age

After doing a little research on the date, it looks like it should be 1981 ( it has the numbers 56 and 12 printed on it) but would appreciate clarification on that if I'm wrong
And for now I'm calling it Elex Kachi Kachi because that what it says on the CF, It features a rabbit running down a path (through a forest?) while carrying a torch and an unfortunate tanuki (I think)
has been caught up in the flames that he leaving behind???

here are a whole slew of pictures , hope you enjoy!

    more pics!
It does have light to moderate water damage, but that doesn't bother me due to it's rarity (and the fact it most likely occured in Japan) still shudder at those videos

Been looking at the pictures and now wonder if the rabbit might be chasing and attacking the tanuki ( or bear? ) with the torch
Not familiar with Japanese folk tales, but it might be something like that perhaps

I don't think it's a bear, I think it's a badger (racoon dog). They seem to be from the fairy tale - The Farmer and the Badger. (scroll up one page on the book from this link)

also- Kachi-kachi Yama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Very cool looking machine, worth a restoration in my opinion. Not many of those around.

Nice one compirate , Thanks so much for finding that information!!
It finally makes sense I actually always thought tanuki were plain racoons, (having first heard the name from the rare suit available in Mario Bros. 3 (it could turn you into an inpervious statue)they spell it tanooki though
Never knew such things as racoon dogs existed

I like the idea of full restoration on this one(but want to keep the cell image the same, even if it needs to be reproduced),
though at this moment in life it will need to be outsourced, too busy these days (not complaining)

I really like that you can almost see the early hints of a Hanemono occuring with the timed center pocket that open the "birds" and for a limited amount of time

Very nice find. Seems to be the missing link between the model C and the early hanemono's like some others mentioned. My Nishijin Hit Parade is a very early hanemono. The mechanics of the machine are identical to a model C including the payout tray and mechanical payout mechanism. A stepper motor is mounted on the back to control the rotation of the center feature, and another box contains the basic logic of the machine which controls motion of the wings.

I would definitely restore that one. There are several members here that sell backgrounds and will even scan your existing background and create a new background for you that is identical. James King (rival) at pachinko planet I think can do it as well as William Caldwell (cardwwi) over at pachinkorestorations.com. I also got a nice custom background from Max Faiman (mxfaiman). I'm sure anyone of them could help you. If you provided a high res photo of the playfield they should be able to extrapolate the graphics without having to send them the actual original background. Even if they can't I'm sure once you strip the machine, you could send the old background to them.

Luckily my early hanemono background is in pristine condition with zero water damage. The person I bought it from had kept it indoors for the time he had it and the machine looks almost factory new except some minor scratches on the plastic and the obligitory cigarette burn on the front lower tray. All I had to do was clean it up and polish the nails...

    Really nice find Derek

Glad to hear that you plan on keeping the cell artwork the same, preserving it's history

Congratulations on another fab addition to your collection and what a great Japanese Folk Story theme

This machine has Monkey Magic printed in English on a homemade sticker but I think it might be something else, Gibisans has it listed as CR Fever Heaven and google translate calls it Fever India
