Default Ward of Lights wont turn on, no key

So, I got my first slot today. Machine is a Ward of Lights, but it doesn't work. I can't get inside because the person didn't have they key, and it doesn't automatically turn on when plugged in (something I know at least most Pachinko machines do). Here's what I need to figure out...

    1) Do these have an on/off switch somewhere?
    2) Is there a way to get a replacement key?
    3) If there isn't, what's the best way to get inside it?

More will come once I can figure out what the inside looks like. Thanks!

you can usually get inside thru the back or bottom, a smaller hand works better or a long screwdriver

there will be a brass bar on the key side that will need to be lifted up or pushed down

once open you can jam a piece of cardboard to keep the latch open

an on/off switch will be on the power supply

Bottom is definitely not an option, there's no openings. I've got a side grip that had room and tried but I dont think I was getting enough leverage to push it. I'll try later on. Here's hoping all the issue was is that it wasn't turned on, got a slot for cheaaaaaap.

After that, is there a way to replace the lock?

Ok, so there's a problem...I found a latch that moves but it doesn't seem to open the door and I can't figure out if I'm moving the wrong thing. So here's a picture of the inside. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

The latch I found I could move is dead center, with a spring on the bottom and two screws above it. Even when I had it up as far as it could go, it didn't open the door. Is this the wrong latch?

if your picture is showing the door, the latch by the 2 wires should be pulled up, you may have to pull on the door while you have the latch up

If it's the latch that looks like a long L shape, then yeah, that's the one I'm moving and it's not doing anything even if I pull on the door.

This latch? And yes, that is seeing the door from a hole in the back, with that latch being almost right under the lock.

That latch you have circled in your picture is not the latch you want. That is the latch that holds the coin mechanism in, and it looks as if yours is missing.

There are two latches that hold the door closed. One is about 6" from the top and 6" from the bottom. They are a hook shape and catch on a metal L-bracket.

    Here are some pictures.

Coin mech isn't missing, it's just hanging in there now, go figure that's what held it in place.

Looking at the pics, I do remember trying to move that and failing but I didn't know if that was a clasp or something else, so I'll give it a try.

So I got the latch to move but nothing happens. I can't even see the other latch. Any other way to get in? I'm about to just buy a drill and drill through it.

Don't drill the lock out! When you get the machine open you can de-pin the lock and use any key to open it. Or the key may be inside. I get you some info on how to do it once you get it open. But, for now we will get this open.

If it where my machine I would drill a hole in the bottom, so I could reach my hand in to unlock the door. Normally there is a hole there anyway. Lay the machine on it's side and you may see any area that has a "knockout". This is normally all ready knocked out. It's an overflow, used in Parlors, that tokens would go to a bin. If you don't see a "knockout" go ahead a drill a hole, large enough to reach your hand through, so you can feel the latch and open it up.

Here's some pictures of what the bottom of the machine normally looks like.

I'm just worried if I start drilling in the bottom and don't know what's there, I'll be going into something important. I know the tray is down there, so is the power box. There's no opening either, so I'll have to drill into it, but I don't have a bit big enough...

I got it! Took a lot of praying and a little finesse and I was able to pop the damn thing open. Power was off so a flick of the switch and it lit up and asked for tokens, and I obliged. Taped the latch down so I could shut the door without it latching down, shut the door, and tossed in some tokens, everything works perfectly! To think, I joined this site to help me get into Pachinko and my first machine is a pachislo instead.

Now I need to find out how to set things up inside it. If I find out how before someone posts I'll edit this and close the ticket. Thank you guys so much! $5 "non-working" slot machine turned into a few hours of hell and a working, beautiful slot.

    Great News!!!

Here's that info on de-pinning a lock. It's really not to hard to do, I've had to do it for several machines I've picked up.
