I think the voice-over was a young Wink Martindale. Game show host of Tic Tac Dough.

Talk about hokey, the flashing lights at the end is a light behind the machine. Check it out, the door lock is flashing! And so is a spot on the ball loader. As is the upper left gap with the glass frame. Alternatively, there could be a light in front of the machine reflecting off.
So much for truth in advertising. But Wards did have a backout clause. The machine you got when you ordered was not the same as the one in the commercial. I think this disclaimer was in one of their Christmas Catalogs as well.

I didn't know they even had that. Makes sense though.

Do you know how bummed out those kids must of been when they got the pachinko that had flashing lights...just a couple of wires hanging out the back! I wonder if they came with any balls and how many?

When my dad bought my Model B, it came wired up to a 6 volt lantern battery. Three lights. Two lights were in parallel and operated the jackpot win light on the side, and one light was the low jackpot light. That battery lasted forever. Mine came with about 300 to 400 balls if I remember correctly.

The battery leads were physically soldered to the wire leading up to the fuse block. The first time we had to replace the battery, we cut the wire at the battery leads and then simply stripped the wire and wrapped the wire to the battery terminals and electrical taped the leads after that.
