Default I need answer to an electrical question.

Hey guys, spend the day working on my Pachinko for Charity setup and I have a question. With the help of Pinball Dave I am setting up a way to make these coin operated. The coin selector that I have needs 12v at 65mamps. Can I power more than one of these things from the same power supply? Like if I have a 12v @500 mamps can I power 4 or 5 of these coin selectors? The thought of having to find 10 plugs

    THANKS!

    Yes, this should be possible.

The coin selector is rated at 65mA, but when a coin is accepted it also has to power the pulse that goes to the isolation LED on the connection harness to the card reader emulator dongle (which is a 20mA peak current). So that brings the maximum current up to 85mA, which we should probably round up to 100mA to give a little safety margin.

So a 500mA supply should be OK powering 4 or 5 coin mechs.
