I've got balls of steel! A little over 100, it seems. Plus one gold colored one. Apparently the place I got the machine from only provides 100 balls. Thankfully, when the guy started to count them out, another worker said to just give me the bag, since it probably only has a little more than 100. I may troll eBay for some more today or tomorrow. Also, how do you guys usually handle gold balls (or do you)? I've seen them used in exchange for prizes at conventions, but I wasn't sure if they are really used beyond that.

Turns out that they gave me 345 silver balls +1 gold +1 silver that I found on the floor. Only problem is that some of them are dirty/have rust on them. I don't really know a better way to ask this, but does anybody have any tips on cleaning balls? (Yeah, I know it sounds bad, I just can't think of another way to put it)

CLR, huh? I didn't even think of that. Thanks! (Tumbler idea is also cool, but a bit expensive for me)

some CLR or Dawn in really hot water, swirl balls around, rinse off with really hot water and lay on towel and roll them around to dry good

if they aren't too dirty put about 100 each time in an old sock and roll them back and forth

Thanks for the tips! I am now able to say without a doubt that the payout system on my machine works! While I was playing, though, I had to deal with ball jams on the play field on two separate occasions (one during a jackpot round which ended that fairly quickly). Still, it was a lot of fun to actually be able to play continuously without having to reach behind the machine every 30 seconds. Also, I love the sound of more balls flowing into the tray (specifically when they roll into it instead of being dumped into it). Thinking about buying a hanemono machine next, even though I was planning on getting an Evangelion machine (eventually).
