    Default Introduction

Hello, my name is Clay. I live in the desolate wasteland that is Oklahoma (it's actually not that bad). I stumbled across this website some time ago when I was searching for pachinko machines (shocking, right?), and I held off on registering until I could get one of my own.

Well, the time has come at last. I finally managed to find an affordable unit in decent condition! Today I bought a "Tiger's Mask" themed pachinko machine for $99. I haven't brought it home yet, but it seemed to be in working order when I tried it out at the room with the things that you show people. I guess you could call it a showroom. Anyway, although it could definitely use some cleaning, it works, and the price was right.

I'm glad to finally be a part of the pachinko community, and if there are any trials required for new members (24 hour pachinko marathon to prove your dedication or something), I will gladly take them on. Also, try not to take me too seriously. I apologize in advance if my sense of humor falls flat from time to time.

Welcome to the addiction Clay. Don't leave them plugged in... they multiply overnight. And when you're not watching, they poop little silver balls in the oddest places. I found one in my glove compartment!! I have a friend that accidentally mailed one.

I need the balls to multiply for sure. The guy that was working at the place I got the machine from couldn't locate the balls so now I only have about 20. He said that he would give me a call on Wednesday when they get some from their other location (hopefully they will also send a key). Still, I did play for a while and it was totally awesome. I also managed to find a PV on YouTube:

20 Balls??? Son, you are gonna need 40 to 50 times that amount to be able to play. Luckily the land of Ebay is able to help you replenish your balls fairly inexpensively

Balls don't multiply, The machines multiply. Balls timid creatures that like to get away from their kind. They find ingenious ways to jump out of your machine and some how make it to the furthest reaches of your home. They rarely multiply they escape. Machines, on the other hand, breed like rabbits.

Like Tribbles, Pachinko Machines are born pregnant. I had one machine, then 2, then 4, then put two up for adoption. Then another one came and I am expecting a fourth within a month. One thing to note. Their reproduction rate varies on how much you play, how much work you put into one "cleaning it up" (especially vintages machines) and your active participation in this forum.

Once your machine stops being played and you don't visit this forum, then they tend to hibernate a bit. To completely stop a machine from reproducing, simply put it in an attic, closet or garage. Then if you choose to sell it to an active member here, you will see it begin to reproduce again.

Well, I did manage to hit five or six fever modes yesterday by simply recycling the same 22 balls over and over. I must have reached for the ball tray at least fifty times... How I managed to keep from losing any of them is anybody's guess, but I imagine they'll be much harder to track when I can't easily count then by hand.

I would highly suggest a Gaku-Counter. Private Message Musky for details. They are very inexpensive kits that you can fit to your machine that will count balls shot, balls won and calculate the difference. With some simple soldering skills you can get one installed on your machine within an hour. All my machines have them installed. It really does add to the game. Now you can keep track of score instead of constantly counting balls.

Each of my machines have roughly 750 to 1000 balls in them (exact count I don't know. I just go by filling the front tray, then filling the hopper to the rim). But I have been able to track how many I won and shot without counting a single one.

Just today, On my Vintage, I shot 2000 balls, Won 2205 so I'm up 205. On my early modern, I shot 2000 balls, won 2497 so I'm up 497. On my modern I shot 2000 balls won 762 so I'm down 1238 (The Star Wars is a VERY stingy machine, if you fever it, you win oodles, but in between fevers, it sucks up balls like a Dyson).

I may actually ask one of my fraternity brothers to help me out on this as well as installing a volume knob, since I'm not very good with soldering and he just graduated with a degree in EE (we're more "Revenge of the Nerds" than "Animal House", and our basement game room/arcade reflects that).

Close. You have to play it 48 hours straight with your left hand while juggling 5 balls in your right hand. Oh and your not allowed to refill your front trays otherwise you have to restart.

    Anyways to Pachitalk.
