Default "Easy Bling-kun" cell cleaner - pics and first run!

So it showed up from Juno via EMS this morning - "Easy Bling-kun" (楽ピカくん - raku pika kun) cell cleaner. Slightly used = 8000 yen instead of the usual 23100.

First some pics of the unboxing ... (Actually, reboxing in reverse...)

    image.jpeg image-1.jpeg image-2.jpeg
Nice aluminum case... top level holds airhose/electrical cable, clip lanyard, and one cleaning set
set is 1 brush, 200ml cleaning solution, 1 tube brass cleaner, and 2 brass cleaning pads

    image-4.jpg image-5.jpg
Better look a cleaning pad - very nice.
two pads... one pad is for cleaning, the 2nd for buffing.
Cleaner smells an awful lot like Brasso.

    image-6.jpg image-7.jpg image-8.jpeg
Underneath is cleaner and compressor... plus a bonus set of cleaning product and brush (not in picture)
The cleaner is really just a small airbrush with an electric spin brush at the front.
Brush is one speed. Thinking of wiring in a rheostat of some kind...

SO - I cleaned two cells quickly. A Ranma 1/2 and a Macross Frontier. Neither were terribly dirty, though the Macross one has a clear background so you could really see the ball-grud areas. After adjusting the air spray, I was able to run through both in about 6 minutes. The grud on the Macross clear background was gone. If I wanted the clear to be left completely transparent, I would have still needed to get into there with some windex or the like, but short of that - this was excellent. On the Ranma cell, which was more dirty (especially in some tight spots), Pika-kun cleaned extremely well. It also was able to completely strip the markings on the outer metal tracks of the cell.

Anyway... bottom line... I've never used the Sankyo cleaner, so I don't know how this would compare. But this is pretty nifty. It uses so little cleaner that I think the 400ml I have will probably last longer than my need for this will. I havent tried the nail cleaning "sub-system", but it looks well thought out. Value wise... the whole thing is heavy, so shipping was pricey (both in Japan to Juno, and from Juno to me), otherwise I'd call this an awesome value. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying one at full price.

If I were you, I'd wait until someone (like me) cleans the crap out of all his pachis and then sells his on eBay for some extra coin. Probably get it for $100 + $25-ish domestic shipping. That would be a sweeeet deal.

Wow, that looks great. First time I have seen one of those. Definitely will want to keep an eye out for a good deal on one.

Cool deal...does it leave any residue on the cell after the cleaner dries? I would be interested in it when you are ready to sell!

Good question... Need to do some tests to see. It uses so little cleaning solution that it isn't like the dirt disappears... It must go somewhere... Into the brush? Need more investigation.
