Default Just got a new machine: Monster Mansion... Few Questions

So I just bought this machine... I plan to keep it around but what would you guys value it at? My wife is pissed and thinks I paid too much and I think I got a fair deal on it. Came with about 500 balls and it works perfectly. All and all the machine is in great condition too.

Also, there are two places (one on each side) where the ball just goes through... some kind of magnet sensor? Anyways on the right side of the playfield there is a round spot with four lights, each time you go through one of those sensors it makes a light apopear in that circle... what does this do? I have gotten it up to the four lights and nothing happened, also went five times and nothing still.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

I really do not know much about that machine but I do know it as been discussed a few times.

I am sure someone will be along soon who can shed more light on your questions.

    WELCOME!

Could you indicate with a photo exactly what you mean please? I'm guessing it is the 'stored spins' counter.
    Video would be even better.

Value of the machine, working? US$100-150

    Probably the Sub Roulette..

Each time a ball goes through the pass through pocket, then one of the 4 leds will light..those are stocked chances of getting the flippers around the main start pocket to open for less than a second, theoretically giving you a better chance to get a ball in the start pocket for a spin..there is usually also 2 symbols somewhere on the play field or on the screen that are usually an X and an O that will flash back and forth and then stop on one of them..if it stops on the right symbol then the flippers will open..if it stops on the other symbol then they won't open..Then if you have anymore stocked it will start again!!

On some pachinkos it will always stop on the winning symbol and on others it rarely does..like on Star Wars!!

It is often referred to as the 'sub roulette' on these forums!!

I hope I explained that ok...Its a feature on most modern pachinkos!!

OK, I have been playing this thing since I got it... and still have not won a jackpot, even cheating! Was there a way to set the hardness of these machines or something? Is it rigged?

I was wondering what that was on my Star Wars. You're right about the star wars. it rarely happens so I never noticed it. On my Star Wars there are "two" modes following a fever either a 100CR mode which the tulip below the start opens, and a "red" screen mode where the tulip seems to open and close constantly. This increases the odds of a start as well as the tulip pays 5 balls vs 3.

Unless I am in those two modes, I never notice the start flipper opening so it tells you how tight the star wars is with the sub roulette. I'm trying to figure out what causes the 100CR and red screen. If I am correct. The "red" numbers (1,3,5,9) cause the red mode following the fever, and the "blue" numbers (2,4,6,8) cause the 100CR mode. Or it could be backwards.

Yep red and blue jackpots/fevers. On my sea story machine and on some of my Heiwa's it calls them big bonus and Super big bonus. Also play different music and different on screen graphics during fever. On Cutie Honey the only difference I can see during the fever is the red version is the song has lyrics.

Do any of the buttons on the back side have anything to do with this?

I do not believe that you can adjust the odds on the machine. You can do a little nail bending to make it easier.

Be patient, it took me several months to hit a fever on my JAWS machine, but once it did, it was well worth the wait.

They are gambling machines after all. Of course they are rigged. I was lucky enough to hit some fevers during my first two days of playing star wars. Since then it has been much more stingy.

Some newer "moderns" have "lite" versions of their machines which appear to be designed for home or entertainment uses. Their payout is much lower, but the odds are much better as well. My early modern Hanemono seems to have the best "odds". If you put 1000 balls in, you are most likely going to get a fever. But the Hanemono's are based on shot location and timing, not some arbitrary setting in the machines logic.

My Star Wars has the best fever mode, but they are few and far between.

Please keep in mind that your comes from a time in pachinko history when it was ok to have low odds.

Specifically, you only win 1/315.5 shots. That means it's VERY easy to not win for well over 500 spins. And on top of that, there's only a 50% chance to win again...

Today's machines have the same overall start odds (1/300 to 1/400 normally), but give you at least 60% if not higher odds of continuing.
Currently Own: Nothing. I play mostly online now.

The problem is making sure I have a video camera going every time I play.
