    Default Cleaning/Lubricating/Re-Aligning reel motors?

    Hey,

My 2003 Sammy Derby Boy Pachislo was real dirty when I purchased it. I've done a lot of cleaning to the machine and that last thing I would like to do is give the reels a nice cleaning. I would like to achieve two things and could use a little advice.

First, all of the reels are out of sync just a little (meaning that are not lined up perfectly). When you move the reel by hand, they move in click segments. One is about one click and the other is two clicks out of sync with each other. There are notches in the black plastic so I can can also determine that they are out of sync. I tried to just move them to the correct order, but the machine will bring them back to this state after it spins. What do I need to do to correct this?

Second, I would like to clean the reels. I found a pdf that is titled Pachislo repair guide, and it does have some useful information to remove the reels. I would like to add some lubrication to the motors to help smooth out the spinning. The reels seem to hesitate for split second, and start spinning. You can sometimes feel a the motors kicking in causing the machine to vibrate for a second. While I don't mind this and it is probably normal, I enjoy working on the machine and I believe this may help. Any advice on this?

windex will clean almost anything on your machine, glass, plastic, metal etc.

spray it on a soft rag or paper towel to clean.

i've used contact cleaner with good success sprayed on motor shafts, spin levers and all sticking buttons.

The reels have a home switch that should be adjustable and can realign the reels with that setting
