I ship 300 balls to Canada to defeat the 4 pound international limit. 500 balls is 6 pounds and fits comfortably in a small flat rate box with some newspaper stuffing. 1000 is just about the max a small flat rate box can handle at 12 pounds. Not bad for $5.95 anywhere in the USA including Alaska or Hawaii. The most I ever shipped was 1025 in a single small flat rate box, there just isn't room for more.

You can do over 5000 in a large box. Thats how they arrive from Goldenstatetraders when you buy bulk.
