Default Is it possible to switch a Rescue Dog playfield cell with a Popeye cell?

its the same Sammy 2004 red box, but if I popped off a Rescue Dog cell, will a Popeye cell fit in it's place? Will the LCD/Audio/playfield movement be the same?

Most cels, the screen and animatronics plus all the sensors are built in. All the sound and video data is mounted on the cel. Then joined to the frame by a couple of leads. As long as its the same frame originally. You should be able to swap them.

As everyone knows at this point, I really want a Sammy 2004 Popeye Pachinko with the popeye profile cell. So far I've seen ones with the cells in great shape but the cabinets are just trashed up. At the same time, I keep on finding Rescue Dogs (same Sammy cabinet) on ebay and craigslist for around $100. I don't know how much of a pain it would be but I might consider buying a nice Rescue Dog and a crappy Popeye (with a good cell) and just swapping the cells. I just don't know if it would be worth the time, effort, or $$$ spent.

    Any Thoughts?

Is there an instructional how-to thread listed on Pachitalk, so I can see whats involved with cell swapping?

we do have some info on cell swapping in our Research Centre, but it is mostly for the popular Sankyo 'Lumina' frame models

so I don't know if it would be helpful for a Sammy frame?

I can also give links to a couple of Doc's videos

First one is for cell swapping a Heiwa 'Kabuto' Frame
