Default Vintage with Interchangable Playfield (WTF???)

    Is this for real?

I have never seen a vintage with an "interchangable" playing field

Looks like it may have adjustable jackpot (from the 13/15 designation on the playfields).

It's WAAAAY overpriced, but I have never heard of this. Looks like a Nishijin "C".

Can anyone verify if it's legit, or if it's a custom that someone Kludged together.

I have seen machines with interchangeable play fields. They started on the Model B but it didn't really take off till the model C. I was kinda confused at first to see how you do change them out. I think there might be some posts or something missing from the 2nd cell that is loose. I haven't personally got a hold of a machine like this. Also I don't think the jackpot see-saw is adjustable. Which means that the second cell came off a machine with a different jackpot mech. (won't affect play)

Not the same machine. The one on ebay has a 15 and 13 on it, where as the one you mentioned is 15 and 11.

Looking at my 78 Sankyo, I can see how it could be done since all the mechanics bolt off the backboard. Don't know what the numbers indicate because it would be hard to adjust the payout mechanism without putting "spacers" in it.

Unique machine though. Can't see paying 4 bills for it though. I can get 4 machines here for that price. If I had 4 bills, I'd try and find that Star Wars machine again...

I believe it's for real, I have seen them in posts here at PachiTalk

The Seller has also included the option to make Offers, so I presume they are just trying to gauge the market, after all these do not appear every day on ebay

Some great pics in the listing, so they should be documented here at PachiTalk for future reference, that way we can still see them after the link goes dead

I think I remember reading in an early '80s article Pachinko Palace saying that it was getting hard to get complete machines anymore because of the switch to changeable playfields..

Definitely a cool machine. Really unique as well. Can't swing 400 bucks though. But it's a neat foot note to our ever growing hobby/obsession.

I have one that I'm just completing the restoration on. However, I don't have a replacement cel. I'd love to find a second cel to complete the set. Now, if I could just figure out why my pics keep rotating on their side when I post, I'll be a happy man.

I sent the seller of this a message on ebay stating it was an interesting machine.

Looks as if they lowered the price a bit and added a make offer button. They acknowledged the asking price was high. Clearly testing the waters. Someone here may want to make an offer on it. Not many of these machines exist with both playing fields available.
