    Default Reversing a desktop unit,

Warning, Don't expect this to be finished soon.

It starts with the desktop I brought back in this thread.

Ask me about the weather? Its all on my desktop

I picked up a second hand yellow frame from YJA. which arrived today.
    So now the task begins.

    IMG_0807.jpgIMG_0808.jpgIMG_0822.jpg

First is to remove the frame circuit board and speakers. These had been screwed and glued in place.

    IMG_0810.jpgIMG_0811.jpgIMG_0813.jpgIMG_0812.jpg

Then remove the autoplay controls. These are wired into the start pocket and tulip pocket ball sensors, The chance button and jackpot ball sensor.
For now I've just cut these off,

Default Re: Reversing a desktop unit,

The person who did that original conversion of this one wanted to keep the wiring neat and tidy and so removed any wiring that wasn't needed. So it only had 2 out of 4 speakers, All the frame wiring removed, as well as any ball sensor wiring that wasn't used,
This is fine, But it means that I have nothing to reconnect, Reminds me a bit of candyflip's computer pachi thread.

You can see here that the plugs in the ciruit board have had alot of the woring removed.

    IMG_0814.jpgIMG_0817.jpg

With the auto play cut out, just left with the tails for the start pocket/jackpot ball sensors.

    IMG_0819.jpg

Next to remove the circuit board thats just clipped in. As on a lot of pachinkos

    IMG_0820.jpg

Here we can see the wiring cut from the ball sensors. The first picture is from the bottom payout sensors and jackpot sensor, The second is the 2 start pocket sensors, Can just see the yellow and green wires on both of them.

    IMG_0821.jpgIMG_0815.jpg

Most of the frame plugs will not be a problem as they are already on the new frame, But the ball pocket ones, will all have to be remade or replacments found. I would like to keep all the wire colours original if I can.

    IMG_0823.jpgIMG_0824.jpgIMG_0825.jpg

Then we will see if there are any other problems

Will do, All put away at the moment as Mrs Clam at work and I've got Junior I don't think it will be to bad. But I will have to email Vince to see if I can get some replacement lenses for this yellow frame and my pink frame too.
But no rush at the moment. lets see how I get on.

I changed my mind about stripping the other cel, The idea is can it be done without getting any extra parts.

So I started with the start pocket sensor wiring.

Here we have the sensor end and the circuit board end.

Removed the ends from the outer plugs

Replaced the wire for one approx 10 inchs long. and put back in the outer plug

    One new lead

Got the other start pocket/tulip pocket to do, then these can be refitted.

The lead for the other ball sensors, tulips and trap door has had the terminals removed from the housing at the processor end.

Although I had some spare frame to cel leads, none have the same connectors. Execpt the door open warning switches. After some (a lot) of hunting around on the web, I found out that these are molex 2.5 pitch mini lock wire to board connectors
    http://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/sd/503518100_sd.pdf

RS don't seem to sell them, But Farnell do

Will place an order and get a roll of matching cable at the same time. But only sell them in 100's where I need 4

Well I ordered some bits from farnells at 5:00Pm on thursaday and they arrived by noon on Friday, Ace service.

Started making the lead last night and finished off today. And fitted to the cel.

Only thing left to do now is try it,

So clipped the cel into the yellow frame I got, and plug everything in,
On with the power and sucess

I think yellow really suits this game.

Started with basic tests, Drop a ball into the start pockets and check for a reel spin, Both pockets work.
Dropped some balls in the sub roulette sensor, Got the flashing leds for that and finally got a win and the tulip opens
Not getting any payouts though, Looked round the rear of the machine and spotted the whole payout assembly isn't in the right place. Must of got knocked in transit, Drained the balls and refitted it.
Perform reset and try again, It now pays out
Test the lower payout pockets. All working

Only the jackpot trapdoor and trapdoor ball sensor left.
    Kept playing till a win
yes the trap door opens and it pays out 10 balls for every ball that goes in

Everything seems to be working fine, especially as I got 2 more jackpots in a row.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, And now I have another complete machine

Just want to get a new led lense for the front of the machine as this one damaged in transit, But all in all great

I actually used 12 crimp terminals in the end. I replaced all 8 on that connector and replaced the 4 on the yellow and orange connectors from the start pockets.
