    Smile My first counter

I recently purchased a Gaku counter, from Musky. I was wanting to see just what it was and how they worked. I'll have to say, it's a pretty nice unit and easy to wire up and install. Musky provided all the info needed, with the unit, to make the install simple.

I installed it on a "Seven Flash" machine that is converted to a full cycle machine. It's a real plus to have a counter on this machine and have some type of scoring system. The machine is a work in progress at the moment. Still need to build a cabinet. I did work on getting the counter mounted, (temporarily), and some artwork for it. I did use a different reset button, (stop button from a Pachislo), instead of the one provided.

Here's what I have so far.

Currently, my counters are just simply velcro'ed to the top of the machines. No case, no nothing. I use them on both my machines and I love them. I should eventually get something to mount them on but I don't have the skills.

After I restore my third machine, I may look at getting some sort of mounting and labeling system setup.

If you don't have the skills you should look into getting something from CarlW. Looks to be an excellent product.

It is an excellent product and beautifully crafted but it is priced a bit out of my range. At 100.00 a face plate I would have to spend 300.00 to mount all of my counters. I need to develop something a little more wallet friendly. My cash flow has been a little tight now that my rent went up.

I'm looking at trying to find a solution that's 10 to 15 dollars per machine. I might look at something using a small plexi-plate or a small thin wood face and then look at printing out a graphic.

I've had a chance to work on the counter and building a cabinet. I worked some more on the artwork and got it how I wanted it. I decided not to mount the counter to the top of the machine, but instead mount it lower, in what I call a arcade style cabinet. It makes it easy to read and reset. Also I mounted an exterior volume control and an ON/OFF switch, that turns the machine and counter on and off, at the same time. They are mounted in the frame that surrounds the counter. Here's some pictures of how it turned out. 006.jpg007.jpg009.jpg004.jpg011.jpg003.jpg002.jpg
