Default Double Stack of Balls Before Jackpot Assembly

Picked up a mid 70's machine on an impulse. Once I loaded balls in for the first time everything seems to works decent as is. However the balls sometimes push up and start to double stack starting at the ball dump area and once they build up enough... the friction of the double stacked balls keeps them from loading into the jackpot assembly. Is the missing cover for the Jackpot area causing this? Are there other parts I may be missing? Any Suggestions for a fix?

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

Yes, you are missing the ball track cover for your machine. This seems to be very common. It is pretty easy to make a substitute and there a few members who actually make replacements. I will see if I can find a thread where this is discussed and post it here for you.

Can you post a picture or two of the front of your machine. We love pictures.

This is where I purchased the Ball Track Cover for my PowerFlash machine. It was a perfect fit. Just need to determine if they carry the right one for you machine.

To answer your question, yes the missing cover is what causes the balls to stack up. You can buy reproduction covers made by a member here but I'm not sure if they'll fit your model of machine. It's easy enough though to make your own out of stiff cardboard, plastic or anything tht is flat and can be cut to shape and then tape it down. All you're looking to do is to keep the balls from bunching up.

    Yes, Welcome!!

Hey mopar, that last one seems to made from some serious al-you-mini-um. I see you use a lot of foam to wedge them down. What held the originals down? They snap on, or maybe screws?

The little catch latch in the front and the part that would slide into the holder in the back.

    100 machines and counting...

the aluminum is jsut some flat bar i had bought for another project... the foam is just over kill so it will not fall out... not really nessasary but... what the hey... when ya move a machine i dont want parts falling off..

the original ones has a spring loaded pin that caught on the down hill side...
