Can Aruze Donchan skill machine with LCD be changed to english?

Can Azure Donchan skill machine LCD be changed to English? I just picked this one up dirt cheap and would like to convert it to English if I could. i did get a manual with it but its very vague also with the machine door open and on the box were the reset switch and power switch there is two toggle switches can any body tell me what they are for? they are located under the key switch i can post a photo if needed. thank you in advance for any help i can get.

Don Chan is a Japanese pachislo machine manufactured by Aruze

Sorry I don't believe these machines have language settings at all. Pachislos were designed and made to be played in the Japanese Parlours, so the vast majority of them have Japanese speech and text.

There are a handful of pachislos that do have some English speech though, I think ones like 'Spin Luck' which is a more Americanised theme.

Generally, I've found that just by playing a pachislo you can familiarise yourself with the gameplay and what is going on with the game, and find that the Japanese is not a problem.


Regarding the 2 switches:

Two switches on the power supply:
- One requires a soft reset at the end of a bonus.
- The other pays out all tokens at the end of a bonus.

For these switches in most cases off is in the down or right position. The for off and on are:

無 = off

有 = on

Is there a cheat sheet or some thing out there to help me translate the print on the front of the machine? this way I can use a label maker to mark it.
I dont think Babel-Fish translator will help.

do you have a pic of your machine or the text that you are wanting to translate

Just to be sure which model it is, I believe there are a few with the 'Don Chan' and 'hanabi' theme (hanabi = Japanese for fireworks)

For example, I have a 'Don Chan 2' pachislo in storage at the moment, but it doesn't say Don Chan on it, it was my first pachislo and I thought it was called 'hanabi' (hence my username here )

So I think firstly we need to establish which one it is if the text you need translating is specific to the model, or it could just be basic gameplay instruction stuff??

A pic of the front of your machine would help, or a clear pic of the text in question, just in case any members can help with translating

Okay that looks like it is 'Don Chan 2' made by Aruze around 2001, here's our RC link:

This model is a 1,2 or 3 token bet per play machine, so whilst you can play with just 1 or 2 tokens, it makes more sense to play with 3 (Max bet) to enable all the win lines. It comes in either a 'red' version or a 'blue' version, so you have the 'red' version.

I'm unsure which text you need translating?

If so, here is a link to a PDF manual that you may find useful, towards the end, you will also find some manufacturer specific info and diagrams etc (I think page 7 has Aruze)

Awesome! Thanks for the info and yes I am pretty new to the pachislo world, I Also have the IGT Bulldog game too, I would like to find a operators manual for it also.

I have had some true "one armed bandits" also.

The one I have right now that takes Quarters is a Seeburg. I am working on it, but can't find a operators manual any wear for it is a 1979 Seeburg made by Williams Electronics Division Seeburg corp. I would really like to get it up and running to its original state.
These games are great in my man cave lol.
