Default Travel Channel Japan show Pachinko Parlor Clip

I have just uploaded for your viewing pleasure the pachinko video part from the Travel Channel show about Japan. This show was discussed somewhere here before. Very interesting stuff as it shows a Pachinko parlor in action and the actual exchange of winning balls ultimatel for money in a back alley.

You can grab it from Alex's site that he is letting us use at :

    pachitalk.gamershive.com

It is in the Travel Channel Pachinko Clip directory.

    ENJOY !!

As I said before somewhere here : I especially like seeing the ball dispenser in action after he buys them and then the ball counter after he is done playing. The sequence about the back alley is interesting when you see the person smile behind the small window after the exchange for money.

To make more room for you pachislo/pachinko videographers so you can upload your videos on the gamershive pachitalk ftp site, I have moved this large video (31 megs) to here :

    http://rapidshare.de/files/4275632/P...el_Ch.mpg.html

It is available as a free download and only for a limited time. It could be a long "limited" time or it may be gone in a couple of weeks. But if it is gone and you want to download and watch it : just email (PM) me here thru my user profile or direct to me at pachinko_lew@yahoo.com and I will reupload it for you pronto!.

Ok ! I had a PM here and an email to repost it so due to overwhelming demand here it is again :

    http://rapidshare.de/files/8008302/P...el_Ch.mpg.html

30 megs big. I don't think it will stream direct but it might
Grab it quick as I am sure it will go down again. Also : Be sure to click on the button that says FREE to download it. Then you will see a timer showing a wait time (usually 30 seconds) and then it will start downloading automatically to whatever folder you choose.

Upon closer inspection of this great video not only do they tell the "secret" as why people play pachinko in Japan but also I think I see some of arbys flags/banners in the beginning of the video outside that parlor ?

PS : Coming back to this message and cheking the download url, I see it has been downloaded 3 times already!

    ENJOY

The two coolest banners IMO are the Tekken and the Star Wars and the star wars fetches a decent price here in the US

Yeah, if I had to wait so long to download that file, you can wait for your Star Wars banner.

I'm watching the video now but has it a couple of inaccuracies (the first you guys already know):

-You don't control the speed the balls.

-Most parlors, and especially mid to large size ones, do not allow you to "bus" your own ball box.

Good video otherwise though. They must have shot it during the weekday because there were hardly any people in that parlor.

1 :hmmm the actual quote is "The player can control the speed at which the silver balls are shot into the playing area."

I understand that to mean you can control the speed on how fast your shots are. In other words and for example : On my Sankyo Pachinkos I can shoot one ball at a time slowly (by holding in on the button on the knob)or I can speed it up and shoot several quickly.

2 :By bus do you mean take your own ball box to a ball counter? Chances are this guy is the owner of that parlor anyway but after looking at the video, would you call this a medium or large parlor?

    1. Wouldn't that be referred to as "rate" and not "speed"? Also, players don't actually use that button, only to stop the balls during a super reach when the memory is full. You can take your hand off the handle for the same effect anyway.

    2. I don't think he'd be the owner as that parlor (Passage) is a relatively large chain, he is probably a customer. That particular location ranks to me as being a small-medium but, then, they didn't really show all of it (like the pachislo area, for example).

Sorry lew, I'm working off a lot of info that only pachinkers in Japan would know.

I'm curious then why the Japanese manufact. even bothers to put that button on there then(seems like a waste if all the players never use it)? I don't use it here but then again I am not buying the balls . My Gachinko doesn't have that button as far as I can tell.

In the video where is the name of the Parlor(passage) or do you recognize it from being in it at one time?

You don't have to say your sorry as we (or at least I am) are always starving for accurate information.

I find that it is incredible that Japan and that parlor would allow an inaccurate protrayal like that by the Travel Channel ! Maybe they used Google to translate ??
