Default Done with My 71 Bowling Playfield Replacement! YEAH BABY!!!

Before: Pretty bad shape. Missing upper Jackpot supply tray. Missing front overflow switch. Discolored play field...But what's there works.

During: The only casualty was the Lower Race Plastic Ball Guard and some superglue fixed that up. I'm glad I numbered the bags...Made installation a breeze. I was most nervous about actually removing the playfield from the frame and putting back all the mechanisms. I was hoping I would figure out where everything went. Had to do some looking around to see how certain pieces fit... But it came together without too much trouble. My arms are sore from replacing that "race" and all the nails back in...

After: Ready to PLAY!!! Just have to do some final Nail Adjustments as I find issues during game play.

Side By Side with Little Sis. Don't they make a great looking pair? All that's left is to install the Gaku Counters I have on order. That should be fun.

Will I do it again? I don't know. There is a great feeling of satisfaction...but I don't know if I wanna go through all that work again. I'm gonna take some time and enjoy the fruits of my labor.

    Looks good.

The first playfield replacement is the hardest. The next one will be a little faster because you know certain ways how to do things. After about 5 you get a nice rhythm down and can replace them all in a matter of days.

Anyways you did a nice job and I hope you do have fun playing it.

    100 machines and counting...

Congrats P.opus...you're not a virgin anymore! Now you'll never be able to look at a water stained machine and say, "Oh..it's not that bad!" You'll have to replace them all!

    Nice job man!

    So you're saying...I'm doomed!!! (grin).

You're probably right. However, I am really spoiled for "A" models, so I'll probably only look to pick up those. There isn't a "B" or "C" that I can think of that I would want to put that much effort into. Not many "A"'s have found themselves in Florida.

I do have an offer for one for $75.00 but the person wants to sell all of his machines as a set for 300.00. I don't need three more projects. If he doesn't take my offer, I could have a prettly long break until another Model A shows up.

Thanks to everyone here, for your encouragement, knowledge and great posts.
