    Default Transformers

I have a few questions regarding transformers.

1st Question: Is there a big difference between a 5 amp and 6 amp transformer? I know some vendors use 6 amps while others use 5 amps. Is there a danger in using the 5 amp transformers with machines that have LCD/LED's? All comments and opinions will be appreciated and welcomed.

2nd Question: Besides the main vendors selling pachislo's, where is the best (cheapest) place to purchase them? :feedback:

Watts divided by Volts = Amps needed. This works with any voltage, say you have a string of 80 bulb X-Mas lights that plug into a 120 volt house outlet. Each light bulb is a 3 watt bulb, 3 watts x 80 bulbs = 240 watts, total divided by 120 volts = 2 Amps . That means it takes two amps to carry the load.

Transformers are a tricky thing sometimes.
I think the 6 amp is the better of the two because it transforms into a cool jet and the the 5 amp only transforms into a car. SO in my opinion the 6amp is the one to use.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

From what I've heard, 5 amp is more than what is needed. If every light and all music were on, the hopper was spinning, the reels were spinning and you were pushing all the bottons, it still would not reach the 5 amp limit. This is pretty much backed up by the fact that American Syscom, who's Japanese Company makes parts that go in the machines, uses a 5 amp transformer in all the machines they sell here in the U.S.

On the best priced machines... It's me, hands down

Thanks for the input. I guess it's a toss up on 5 or 6 amp. Still looking for the best place price wise to buy just the transformers. Any suggestions? Stealth and Pachislo USA and a few others have them for $25 - $30 plus shipping. I was hoping to do better than that. I will need many as I start refurbing the 24V machines.

I use 6 amp in all the 24volt machines I recondition. I offer them for $18.50 each + shipping. Thank you, David

I was hoping someone knew where I could buy them direct from a manufacturer, that way I could cut out the middle man markup?

Call or visit powervolt's website. They supply the transformers to many of the West Coast pachislo dealers. I think it's powervolt.com, if not just do a google search for them.

    Good luck!
