    Smile Okumura-Yuki FISH

This is a fun machine to work on. It has a different design than a lot of the other vintage machines. Some highlights are: most of the fasteners are the same size, thumb screws are used for back plastic access panels in critical areas, the mechanism "snaps" off the wood frame (well mostly), a magnet is used to hold the jackpot ball lever down during the jackpot cycle.

Thanks for sharing those pics. I've never seen a machine with the mechanism so thoroughly covered before. Must really cut down on the dirt in the ball path.

I do love the okumara-yuki for its back mechanics. They are so compact and simple.

I recently made a franken-pachi with an okumara-yuki. Building of a Franken-Pachi I had to actually modify the mechanics in some spots because the factory didn't make some properly. So i'd play your machine and make sure it has no problems. (It was with the lever that dumps the win ball, has the magnet under it. The arm was just a tad too long so I filed down the plastic part a bit.)

I'm surprised you didn't do LEDs. These machines look great with them.

    Thank you Max.

Did not use LEDs on this project. I thought the incandescents looked good.

Had the same problem as you with jackpot release... I flipped over this wire and it seemed to make the difference. It played reliably for about 2000 pachinko balls. The longer end was on top when it worked properly.
