well my neighbor died last may and the park finally brought over a dumpster for stuff they were tearing out or throwing away

its been sitting there are day, so I had to go see what they had thrown away already

it was mostly paneling and cabinets they had throw in there, i saw 2 books in the tv stand in there and grabbed them!!!

Looks like a worthwhile grab/save to me! Going to put them on eBay?

my son stopped over and jumped in the dumpster, all he found was 2 more books, i don't know what happened to all walters other books,

the door was unlocked and we went inside his place and looked around, everything was thrown out or removed, even his stove and fridge.

he had a few wooden masks and other stuff he had brought back from africa in WW2, they were gone

I hope they turn out to be worth something significant. After all, you did help him out tremendously in his final years and he treated you like a door mat at times.
