I was actually looking at the thread about the arrangeball Chumsize just aquired and was thinking, "when will one finally show up in my area?"
    then clicked over to craigslist and there this was!frame.jpgface 2.jpgcenter.jpginstructions.jpglower frame.jpginside back.jpginside front.jpgplug mod.jpg

it has a skateboard theme and looks like Fuji was the maker
I haven't plugged it in yet, but other than being filthy,it looks to be in good shape,

I would welcome any insight as to what I should expect when turning it on(or even if I should) heard several stories about frying components if something is not right about the wiring,
any opinions based on these photos? noticed there is some kind of fuse spliced into the power cord, is this normal?

There is also the really cool model C as well will post photos asap

Very cool machine-always enjoy seeing out of the ordinary ones.
First, just check the obvious such as loose or broken wires, etc. check the fuse(s) which are usually 2 or 3 amp.
Yours has a white, sand resistor in the power cord which was placed there for use here in the US, its not a fuse. You may have a few burned bulbs but that's no big deal.
Also, manually move the ball drop and payout solenoid to be sure they're not stuck. Check for obstructions/trash in the ball pathways. If everything looks good then fire it up and place balls in winning combos to verify that it pays correctly assuming it properly starts a game. Check the payout button as well and any other features such as bonus modes and such. While its on, see of it makes unusual noises or if you smell something getting hot.
Congrtats and let us know how it plays.

Nice purchase. Have never seen one with so little on the inside. Another anomaly is the numbers on the bottom. Have never seen that series on any machine. It looks like the numbers have been just pasted on the pockets after the placard disappeared. Fuji always was different from any of the machines inside. Take alook at the inside of Hanabi's machine and you will see what I mean. I do have a tic tac toe fuji. Congratulations again, I think this is the first skate one I have seen.

Thanks guys! So far,Ive plugged it in (empty) and most of the lights in the center and upper left corner blink momentarily, then the word "stop" lights up in the upper right corner and stays on (these areas appear solid white in my photos),It also has a very slight hum as though its waiting in anticipation

and, of course,I've got a concert to get ready for (Big Bill Morganfield aka Muddy Waters offspring) and can't play with it anymore right now
but, I will be all over it in the morning and let you know the results

    Thanks for your expertise

PS: how many tokens and balls does it require to run?

That stop light is telling you that it's out of tokens. You can either fill it up with tokens and/or bend the micro switch on the coin tube so it thinks its full. How many tokens to play with depends on how loose the pins are aka it's payout to take in ratio. Side note-its cool that your machine has the coin counters. Anyway, sometimes the low coin light simply causes that light to come on and sometimes it tells the machine to halt play until the situation is fixed.

16 balls are what it uses but you can use more or less. Which in effect, changes the odds.

Your slight hum could be a soloenoid sticking. You should be able to tell that fairly easily. It was made for 16 balls and the tokens can be anything that you want the coin acceptor to accept. Most of them are adjustable. If it has not been adjusted from Japan the new gold dollar works perfectly. It is heavy enough. I have converted all of mine to tokens because I had too much money in dollars in them. The machine will run on around eighty or so dollars or tokens. Good luck

The original arrangeball was a thicker and a little larger than todays paschislo tokens. Most of us have a few but not many.

Awesome... glad you got it, Alpha. Nice simple and clean looking innards. Hopefully it will fire right up once you get some coinage in there.

Mine has a bit of a solenoid hum for about 5 seconds on startup. Its the ball dump being held open - give the balls time to drain out. If it stays actuated, check for any sort of switch that tells it it's reached the end of travel and make sure its opening or closing contact.

    Also... check for bees.

Pretty common for transformers to give off a slight hum.

So far, the hum has gone away,it was from a transformer,so thats no problem

It only came with about a dozen tokens,so I'm using gold dollar coins to stock the payout mech (the coin mech is grimy at the moment and is causing the gold coins to stick, although they work fine in the payout mech)

it was missing a plastic "stopper" that keeps the balls in the machine, so they kept draining into the tray, after adding a replacement it's now running pretty much as its supposed to,

All the lights in the center worked like a charm and the pockets register just like they should, but for some reason the "c" row of lights stay on all the time, and the red letter arrow lights on either side were blinking randomly
I found two connections inside that were severed and after doing a temperary repair, the arrow lights now cycle through the rows before settling on one (this happens twice, first on the left side, and then the right)
    Do these arrows indicate that row is special?center lit.jpgstop light.jpgrow C lit.jpg

here is a video showing how its currently working ( I play it twice in a row and win two tokens both times) (and even though the "c" row is lit up, I think I still have to get a ball into the corresponding pocket in order for it to register toward a complete row,but not totally sure of that yet) hope this makes sense

The pockets marked "R" return the ball to the shooter area,The pocket marked "L" lights up space #1, and the upper horse pocket has a sensor inside that advances the red arrow light on the right one row down
I'll take better pics of the repair and the guts ASAP

Doh! forgot to set the video to public,
The other button says stop above it and I'm not sure yet what it does, but I have confirmed that the row "c" lights have got to have a ball in the corresponding pocket in order to complete a row

also, I have figured out that a vertical row pays 1 token, horizontal pays 2 tokens, and getting the four center numbers pays 3 tokens

so far it seems to work correctly despite those lights staying on
