Default My Next New Hobbie : Metal Mold Casting ( Small Figures )

Well I promised some of you good people here that I would start a thread on my modest attempt to create some cool WWI figurines from the 1930's metal molds that I got from ebay .

I first tried to cast semi hard lead and I didn't do proper research ( too inpatient I guess) 1st make sure you have proper ventilation (check) , proper metal ( lead no-good in the casting community ) , and many more .

    and for UK http://shop.princeaugust.ie/

Of course I will post photos and maybe a video in the future Enjoy and Please work Safe .

MVC-001S.JPGMVC-002S.JPGMVC-003S.JPGMVC-004S.JPGwhen i was a kid, my older brother did cast some lead figures, i remember watching him do it

we had a coal fired furnace, I melted some metal in it myself when i was a teen

i tried to cast a british coin with aluminum foil, i didn't have enough metal

I got this cast quarter in change one day, looks like a lot of work to make a fake quarter

many years ago my buddy got lead poisioning from casting lead bullets in his basement.
