    Default Hello new to hobby

where's the best place to buy Pachislos or skill slot machines? Been looking around lately but can't find a reputable dealer. My price range is 300-400... Any suggestions are welcome
    Thanks

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

There are a few good sources that I know of.

    One is Five Brothers Trading:

FIVE BROTHERS TRADING COMPANY, INC. | We are the premier supplier of Japanese Pinball and Slot machines called machines and accessories directly from Japan and we are confident that we can fulfill all of your Pachinko and Pachislo needs.

    Another good source is Akimono:

    http://akimono.com/

Both are members here. I would also mention that if there is a particular machine you are looking for and do not see it on their sites, contact them. They bring in shipments a few times a year and I have heard they are good about trying to track down machines.

Of course, you can also try Craigslist and eBay. There are some really good deals to be found on Craigslist if you are patient. I have had the best luck on Craigslist by searching Slot Machine.

    Good Luck.

If you keep it set up to play like the parlor version (and getting a ball lifter or manually moving balls from bottom to top) you may want 500-1500 more. If you make the machine cyclic ("lost" balls get redirected to the front bottom tray by modding the machine) you can get away with 500 - really boils down to how you like to play, where it is getting installed and how much time/money you want to invest.

Like Cardshark said; everyone has their own opinion. You really need to try them all out and see what you like best. Or go with what looks coolest to you.

    I personally like vintage pachinkos.

    100 machines and counting...

My pachislos get the most play when I have friend's over. If I had to pick my favorites, it would start with my arrangeball and then be vintage pachinko.

Welcome to pachitalk!!! I am a fan of Modern pachinko, and not cyclic. So need more precious shiny spheres.

This hobby really needs a 12-step detox program. Congrats on the Battle Vixen pachi - FBTC delivers a nice product.
