Ya, IGP is an integrated graphics processor setup. The onboard memory is shared and typically is not a design for gaming. It looks like its pretty new but aimed more for general web browsing and such.

I do not intend to "dis" your rig, heck is an Asus! Sall good. I am going to say the simulators minimum requirements are a dedicated video card (Nvidia/BFG Geforce 9600GT-OC or better).

Thanks much for your help mxfaiman! I really appreciate it!

Should or can I post a new thread with just the v0.82a versions and some info to keep confusion down? Moderators?

Also for a future project, should I do a hanemono or arrange ball? Custom or recreation? I personally think it would be fun to model a popular but rare machine that more people could get a taste of. It would be free to Pachitalkers.

Current project is not entirely finished but I have the engine/system figured out and tested for many other designs. I just need to figure out how to get the shooters output velocity to vary more so launches a little differently each time.

    Sort of like : Linear Velocity = time * 10.5 + Random(.0xxx).

When you press space a timer is rest to 0.0 then counts up until you release. It is a fine float (1.000000) but the release time seems to end up being somewhat consistent.

So when you release, your time held is multipled by 10.5 (fixed at the moment) but I need more variation like a very slight random addition between x & x (example .0060 - .0090)

Using python internally in blender v2.65, does anybody on here know any python? I have looked into the online documents but I don't see anything I can use. :\

    Thanks again mxfaiman!

If you think it will help I don't see a problem with you making another thread.. Just make sure if you do, that you put a link to this thread in the new one and a link to the new one in this one!!

Hmm, I don't get the (Not Responding) message in my runtime instance. I do know it takes up to 30 seconds to load in some cases.

Maybe thats why they make those intro sequences .

It literally stays black for a duration of time. Needs load screens [D

If you have an Nvidia (GREEN) card grab the Nvidia version. (v 0.81a)

If you have an ATI/Radeon (RED) card grab the Raedon version. (v 0.82a) - .01 version bump for "chrome" materials complete change.
(Nvidia version uses certain shader settings that are known to have problems rendering (showing up) with ATI/Radeon systems.)

Steve, I remember you did that cool animation of how a vintage "two-shot" tulip gate worked. I was trying to go for that on a specific gate on this game but ran into counting problems with the logic. Its pockets, tulips and back panel though, function much like a real pachinkos without all the mechanical stuffs.

I'll be posting a new thread with more organized links, update info and need-to-do's. I should write up a small copyable list for voluntary system information replies (if you have problems).

    (Example)

    -AMD or Intel?
    -64 or 32 bit OS? _SteveFury: 64bit_
    -Graphics Cards ATI or Nvidia?
    -Graphics card type? Part number?

Thanks for the test Steve, I'll catch you guys later!

Video here: Blender (BGE) Vintage Pachinko Simulator (Behind the screens) - YouTube

Slow 20fps because I was recording, normally 50-60fps until you start to shoot then it runs down to abot 30-48fps.

Steve, is that an integrated setup? Do you have a dedicated video card? Also have you tried running the simulator and giving it about 20-30 seconds to load (stays black for some time)

I'm working on title and load screens but as of now I'm not sure if that will cure the slow load. We'll see.

Currently new cell picture, added extra tulip details, new bump mapping and have been doing some general cleaning within the logic (for eases development)

Trying to add graphic options and camera zooming.

Be doing a file update on both versions to 0.91a this weekend. A lot of updates for VPS are complete, I'll save the main list for the new thread but some of the updates include:

(Image is somewhat blurry, x16 AA is much clearer than this)
    VPS 0.91 x16AA.jpg

    *Optimizations (scene face count)
    *Active nail bending system
*Animated key (animated open-able front door)
*Intro, title, help and loading screens (much faster loading to game)
*Forward/back control (for viewing in game, locked to machine)
*Better physics (realistic ball jitter and other factors)
*New sounds (launch, ball hit pin, and hit bottom track)
*Hit pin sounds vary for random sound
    *Lots more!

Good News, VPS is running at 60fps with even more additional detail. I had been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to "bake" stuff in blender. Its so strange but I've figured that part out to some extent.
Before, all of the simulated light shading on the front chrome pieces was calculated while you played. After proper baking, the simulation of light can be pre-calculated upon the surface you desire while reducing the impact to the CPU on your computer.

More sounds are in as well as even more little minor tweaks. Shadow baking for the nails on the playfield was also required, now its just part of the texture but it was generated from the simulated shadows, good to go.

More geometry improvements as well, reduced over-counts replacing at times 300+ faces with 30 or so well placed "detail" points. (refinements)

I've attached some pictures as, seems to be running darn good at 8x AA too (edge smoothing; more = slower)

Certainly, keep an eye out for another VPS game thread, I'm organizing all the stuff for a new thread, plus adding / tweaking some things before I do the next release.

    Just to mention a few.

*Spinners no longer "bug out" , received new texture.
    *Very minute filter effects added.
*More baking! Ahhh, delicious 3D muffins.
    *Added rear machine encasement.
    *Working on scene additions (props)
    *Even more testing.
    *Overview and check semi-complete

Quick pic with the new tray, shiny floor and bump mapped walls and some baked shadowing on the table

VPS Demo Pic.jpg VPS Cell Detail.jpg

Still baking things and optimizing, discovered a really nice technique for a very realistic bouncing ball. Stutters, jitters, bobbers and shakers...

Rebuilt the tray, added more details, new details need baking to reduce load.

    Looking into mirror projection.
